So it's time to give you an overview of where and how much you can swim in the Hévíz area this summer after the adventure parks.

There are roughly 7+2 beaches near Hévíz that are very popular among guests. Keszthely City Beach | Keszthely Libás Beach | Alsógyenes Lidó Beach | Gyenesdiás Play Beach | Vonyarcvashegyi Lido Beach | Balatongyörök Beach | Balatonberény Beach + Dog Beach in Keszthely and Naturist Beach in Balatonberény   It is typical of the above beaches that you can go for a walk or even take a bath outside of the high season. You can use the playgrounds and sports fields, but the buffets and restrooms are only open during the beach season. In the late spring period, you should expect that renovations, weeding, flower planting, and toys are being renovated, but by the beginning of June, almost all beaches can be visited. There are entrance tickets, where they start collecting from June 1, and where they start collecting from the beginning of the school holidays. The opening hours - as long as you have to buy a full price ticket - are usually between 8:00 and 18:00, but in many places you can buy an evening swimming ticket before closing, which is cheaper and usually after 6 or 7, entry is free. Most beaches have student and pensioner discounts, family tickets or weekly passes can also be purchased. In terms of accessibility, a common feature of the beaches in the area is that they are easy to find. By bicycle, the cash desks are almost within reach of the Balaton bicycle path, and by car, of course, you can park for free next to every beach. Moreover, with the exception of the dog beach and the Libás beach, all other beaches are close to the local train station, so if you can, you can even go by train.   Lake Hévíz, as a uniqueness, is a spa, lake spa and beach spa all in one Unique in the world, Lake Hévíz combines thermal spas and beach spas in such a way that none of them really exist. Due to its uniqueness, you can bathe in the natural thermal spring all year round, and thanks to the covered parts, you can enjoy the experience of warm water even in pouring rain or snow. Depending on the weather, in the spring, usually in May, the beach area opens even earlier, where you can enjoy the pleasures of water around 30°C or even warmer before the Balaton beach season. The children's pools are only filled in mid-June, as they have heated normal water. From the point of view that you can swim in a real, natural, warm water lake and relax and sunbathe on its shore, it is more like a beach, but based on the services, opening hours and prices based on medicinal water, it can be classified more like a thermal spa. You definitely have to try it once, because it is really unique and special, completely different from all the usual beaches and adventure pools! Adventure baths and slide park Near Hévíz, we have to write about 3 major thermal and adventure baths and a slide park. Closer to Hévíz is the Kehida Thermal Bath in Kehidakustány, many people also visit the Karos Spa complex in Zalakaros, and Zalaszentgrót also has a thermal and adventure bath. Perhaps a little further, in Zalaegerszeg there is an Aquacity and slide park. The common feature of the first three thermal spas is that their indoor pools are open all year round, but in the summer season they also open their outdoor beach with adventure park, slides and a large green surface to the public. These baths, although they cannot be called classic beaches, can be visited regardless of the weather, since even if we cannot use the outdoor experiences, the indoor pools are still open. Another important feature they have in common is that they have pools with medicinal water and heated normal water pools. Aquacity, located next to the last-mentioned Zalaegerszeg, only operates in the summer, during the school holidays. It does not have an indoor bath, only outdoor pools and numerous slides, among which all ages can find their favorite. At the same time, just like the Balaton beaches, this adventure bath is only visited in nice, summer weather. The ticket prices of the spas and beaches do not reflect the quality of the services! On the slightly more expensive beaches, the extra program options and extra experience elements provide the basis for a higher price category, while the slightly cheaper beaches are typically smaller, more family-friendly, and offer fewer but equally high-quality services. In addition, all the classic beaches listed here (except for dogs and naturists) have Blue Wave certification and are multiple category winners (child-friendly beach, sporty beach, green beach). The different types of ticket prices mean that entrance tickets to most beaches in the pre-summer season, in June, are cheaper than in July and August.

At the closing ceremony of the project, speeches were given by Bálint Nagy, Member of Parliament, and Péter Naszádos, Mayor of Hévíz. The Hévíz Tiszta Forrás Dalkör, folk dancers from the Illyés Gyula Elementary and Art School, and musician Szeverin Tislerics gave a festive program.

tartalom: + 1 Hévíz has been waiting for the worthy conclusion of the investment for a long time The matter of the old bus stop and the investment in the area of Kölcsey Street has been dragging on in the spa town for many years. As Bálint Nagy, Member of Parliament and Secretary of State for Transport, said at the closing ceremony of the project: the process started in 2019, with the announcement of the then winning GINOP tender, and it just came to an end this weekend. The government then approved the Hévíz development project with a grant of 1.2 billion forints, with the aim of creating a central square worthy of the city's reputation and tourist role near the Lake Spa. However, the implementation did not go according to plan. The work process was slowed down and made more difficult by several factors. In recent years, it has been necessary to modify both the professional content and the budget of the original plans on several occasions. Over the years, the demands of residents, guests and entrepreneurs for a dignified conclusion to the protracted works have increased. Member of Parliament Bálint Nagy highlighted: The Hévíz main square project is an excellent example of how, if there is truly a common will and true cooperation, even the most impossible situations can be solved. This positive example of cooperation also gives hope that the Lake Spa developments that will soon be launched will also be successful.   In his speech, Péter Naszádos, Mayor of Hévíz, emphasized the power of cooperation and joint work. The municipality considers the implementation of this very important investment for the city as a victory, as well as the fact that the city has closed six tenders from state, EU and its own sources in the past 9 months. The aim of the development was to create a livable, modern, community and tourist-valuable environment in Hévíz. Fountain, spacious square, elegant paving and vegetation The municipality terminated the contract with the previous contractor of the now handed over square in 2023. The new public procurement - which took place in three months - was won by the local Possibuild Kft. The investment, which was launched from EU funds, ultimately had to be supplemented with government support. As part of the works, the old bus station building was demolished, and an event space was created in its place with a fountain, sculptures, green islands, street furniture and bicycle racks. The square was equipped with a music pavilion and technical structures that will enable the holding of larger events and festivals. The work of the Munkácsy Award-winning sculptor Ferenc Farkas, a pair of full-length bronze statues depicting Count György I. Festetics and Count György II. Festetics, has been placed in front of the summer entrance to the Hévíz Lake Baths.   In order to shade the event space, solar sails will be installed in the near future. The new event space in Hévíz will have a festival atmosphere on the first weekend! To the delight of the residents and guests, the city of Hévíz is organizing a large-scale “space-occupying” festival titled “The Space Belongs to Us!”. On the morning of July 18, professional performances will be held in the Town Hall’s Ceremonial Hall, and various outdoor exhibitions will be on display on the square. In the evening, a BIKINI concert, laser and light show, and DJ Belo await guests looking to have fun and/or get nostalgic in the area of the former bus stop and Rizling Platz. The concerts will continue on Saturday and Sunday. There will be music, rock ballet, soloists and even a folklore show. The event will be accompanied by a food and craft fair on all three days. The shade sails now offer protection from the sun along the final uncovered section of the pedestrian route between Kölcsey Street and the Thermal Lake, ensuring a more pleasant walking experience. The project was funded entirely by a non-repayable grant from the European Union, as part of the Interreg Central Europe programme and in partnership with international municipalities. The BeReady initiative focuses on mitigating the urban heat island effect caused by asphalt and concrete surfaces in Central European towns and cities.   Several other infrastructure and recreational development projects are also underway in Hévíz. Among them is the construction of a bypass road near Nemesbük, which will facilitate the movement of agricultural vehicles from surrounding areas, helping to ease traffic congestion within the town. The city administration remains committed to implementing projects that improve quality of life and make Hévíz an even more sustainable and attractive destination for both residents and visitors.

We asked Beáta Süténé Tüttő about this fantastic and unique board game. Basics – what is the game about? What is the name of the game, and what kind of atmosphere does it promise at first glance? The name of the game is Hévíz a GyógyíTó. Even the title suggests relaxation, healing, and a touch of playful humor – exactly the kind of atmosphere that characterizes the town of Hévíz and the unique world of Lake Hévíz. What is the story and theme of the game? The game is based on the healing treatments carried out at Lake Hévíz and at various locations throughout the town, such as therapies for musculoskeletal conditions and rehabilitation after injuries. As players move across the board, they take part in elements of the traditional healing cure: bathing in the lake, mud treatments, weight bath therapy, and other complementary treatments. In this way, the game presents the complex therapeutic packages of Hévíz in a playful format. Who is the game recommended for? It is an excellent choice as a gift, a souvenir, for winter evenings, or for family and friends’ gatherings. Recommended from the age of 16 for anyone who enjoys light, cheerful board games. Where is it available and how much does it cost? The price of the game is 8,000 HUF, and the proceeds are used for charitable purposes. Soon it will also be available at the Hévíz Tourinform Office with game rules in English, German, and Russian. Will there be a sequel? Yes! By Christmas 2026, a children’s board game titled “The Wildlife of Lake Hévíz” is planned, and work on it has already begun.   Technical basics of the game How many players can play? Minimum 2, maximum 8 players. How many spaces are on the board? There are a total of 59 spaces, 25 of which include tasks. Gameplay – what does it feel like to play? Is it easy to learn the rules? Yes, very easy. The rules are quick to understand and do not require long explanations. How long does one game take? Approximately 15–20 minutes, so several rounds can fit into one evening. What type of game is it? It is entirely luck-based, requiring no strategic thinking – which makes it relaxing and stress-free. Is there cooperation or competition? The goal is the same for every player: to reach the finish line, in other words, to heal. If only two people are playing, it is recommended to use a special die that includes only the numbers 1 and 2. Experience factor – what does the game offer? What emotions does it evoke during play? Lots of laughter. It is a light, cheerful game that brings relaxation rather than tension. What kind of conversations does it inspire? Those who have already taken part in real Hévíz treatments often relive their experiences, share stories, and recall memories. Is it replayable? Yes, very much so.
