After the removal of the devitalised epidermic cells, the skin absorbs easier the lotion used during hand massage. The next step is dipping the hands in warmed up paraffin, which sticks to the skin and the hands are covered in a plastic bag and gloves. Guest is relaxing for about 20 minutes in the wrap. After that the gloves together with the paraffin are removed. Finally the hands are covered in skin-protection lotion. The treatment does not only treat the skin surface, but the active agents are also absorbed by deeper layers of the skin through the pores thus increasing blood circulation and oxygen supply of the tissues. The word paraffin comes from the composition of the Latin words of parum and affinis. Paraffin may be liquid, gas or solid. In clear format it is solid, odourless, colourless, white material with a waxy touch. Melting point is around 47 to 64 °C.

The Managing Director of Tourism Non-profit Ltd. of Hévíz, Horváth Orsolya said that the timing of the Therapy's branding was a special pleasure for the town, as it was 220 years ago this year that the first bathhouse had been built on the lake. In the course of these two centuries the Traditional Hévíz Therapy has simply become a brand. The qualification certificates related to the Therapy were handed over by the Mayor of Hévíz, Papp Gábor and the Managing Director of the Tourism Ltd., Horváth Orsolya. In addition to bathing in medicinal water, the basic element of the Therapy are mud bath and weight bath. As additional treatment, the consumption of the medicinal water from a drinking-fountain is also a part of the healing process, as well as massages, movement therapies, and physio- and hydro therapies too. The duration of the therapy is two weeks in a standard case. Professionals, specialised in this area, has worked on the development of the standardised Therapy, the fruit of their work is the establishment of a unique healing system. From local dessert it is worth to taste somlói galuska, glass cup filled with pieces of ban and whipped cream, gundel palacsinta alias pancake filled with nuts and poured with chocolate or krémes, phyllo pastry filled with vanilla cream. The tradition of wine in Egregy Wine-making on Egregy, which is part of the Hungarian small spa town Héviz, has a tradition which goes back to the Roman era when viticulture was introduced to the region. The most remarkable varieties of the region are Italian Riesling, a Pinot Gris and Müller Thurgau, but you can find there also Green veltliner) and different types of Muscat. Egregy hill was classified a high-quality wine region in 1998 and the wines produced here were classified as characteristic wines of the Balaton region. In March 2007 the Wine of the town of Hévíz was chosen in a contest for the first time and this event is also held every year. The wine cellars of local vineyards can be reached easily by moto train or by foot.

For the acquirement and practice of qi-gong one requires good concentration skills because the unity of thought, mind and breath brings the energy into motion. Qi-gong helps to develop sensitivity to the energy (for example: vision of aura, telepathy, palm diagnosis). Beside their health, the one who learn it from a real Master and practice it persistently can live with their full physical, spiritual and intellectual potentials extension. During its history several branches have developed. There are Taoist, Buddhist qi-gongs, healing medical exercises, dynamic, static, meditation like and exhausting exercises and there are some that can connect to martial arts. It is a natural, mixed type mud containing 80 % non-organic and 20% organic substances. Due to its mineral substance content, high heat storage ability and other physical characteristics it is excellent for the after treatment of rheumatic, degenerative locomotor diseases, dermatological diseases, certain gynaecological diseases and injuries. Due to its special content, it has an excellent alleviative impact. Prior to any mud pack treatment patients shall consult with a physician. During mud pack treatment mud with a temperature of approximately 38 to 42 °C is used on the entire body, on certain parts of the body or in mud buckets. Treatment duration is usually about 20 minutes every day or every second day. tartalom: + 1 Within the framework of the Jubilee Congress of the 125-year-old Hungarian Balneological Association, the final conference and professional workshop of the OFF to SPAS project was held in Hévíz on 18-19-20 November 2016. During the program, participants were given detailed information about the results of the international project, and were able to become acquainted with European organisations, such as the European Spa Association, the European Network for Accessible Tourism, the Transylvanian Balneotourism Cluster, the International Social Tourism Organisation - ISTO Europe and the EuropeSpa medical & wellness organisation. During the project ( August 2015 - November 2016), the partners: Conducteda research in support of the health tourism development: market study concerning older people, surveys, comparative  analyses, researches testing the market of older touristsand balneological issues, involving the Nordic members of AGE Platform Europe, as well as the customers of the travel agency Travel Specialist Group Sweden AB, set up a balneological tourism product network, - through the example of Hévíz and Covasna - which offers location, market-specific medical and health assistance programs for the older age group, set up discussion forums, workshops related to the project for the purpose of network building and partnerships, and exchanging good practices, performed extensive marketing communication, addressed decision makers and potential travellers, and conformed to the special needs of target groups and to tourism trends. The promotion of the senior tourism is a strategy for active and healthy ageing. In fact travelling provides life satisfaction and helps people stay active, avoids loneliness and lack of meaning in the later stages of life and tackle social exclusion, which are some of the main issues older people face today. Travelling can be an enriching experience for senior citizens as it provides a change in their daily routine; it involves discovery, interaction with the environment, intercultural contact and social interaction. The well-ness and care experience are definitely a plus that the balneological tourism can add and value, for both the older and younger populations, an investments for ageing well. About the Off to Spas project (676737/COSME Programme): In accordance with the European Union’s objective to foster low/medium season tourism (COSME Programme), a European consortium has launched the ‘Off to Spas’ project (COSME 676737). The project aims at creating new, thermal water related international health tourism products (international balneology product) in the spa towns of Central Europe that could serve as a main attraction in order to bring seniors to these regions in the low tourism seasons. The main objectives of the project: Encourage a better cooperation and increased agreements among different actors of the health tourism value chain and seniors associations/organisations with elaborating a new, international balneologytourism product network focused on off-season, and custom tailored toseniors specific needs; To make more benefit for tourism SMEs by increasing the number of tourism flows during the low and medium seasons and professionalization of tourism service providers; Communication and promotion of tourism as a strategy for active and healthy ageing; Facilitate accessibility in tourism offers, along with intermodal transfer and transnational connectivity; Foster the construction of innovative health insurance policies in order to make the product sustainable and self-developing in the future. The health tourism product development process included a wide range of activities from research to monitoring, and was supported by the active marketing communication of involved partners.
