lead: Chinese massage therapy is one of the ancient therapies.

tartalom: + 1 It is part of the alternative massages and constitutes important part of the traditional Chinese medicine. It is also called Tui-Ni therapy. As a matter of fact it is an energetic treatment, which uses massage and dislocating techniques. Those points are stimulated by this massage, which are located on the energy flow paths of the body. It is based on the meridian system mentioned at the description of the acupressure treatment and on the stimulation of the given acupressure points. Patients are allowed to wear clothing during treatments. The aim of Chinese massage is to remove the barriers obstructing vital power (Qi) flow and to harmonise the body’s energy management. The masseur achieves the required effect by putting pressure on the respective points of the meridian system. Chinese massage technique can be applied in two ways, but it also depends on the treated person and body part. If the aim is to strengthen and stimulate the body the application of Yang technique is recommended; if we wish to relax the body, Yin technique shall be used. Chinese massage therapy is ideal for muscular fatigueness, back- and muscle aches, joint and spine disorders, gynaecological problems, for the mitigation of chronic or virulent rheumatic disorders, furthermore it plays an important role in prevention. Interesting facts First written record related to Chinese massage was found in one of the medical books of the Yellow Emperor. In terms of its basic principles it’s a uniform method, but there are various versions of Chinese massage. Number 36 is an important element in the Chinese massage as it is used as a measurement unit.

lead: The lymphatic drainage massage was developed and pioneered by Dr. Emil Vodder, Danish biologist at the beginning of the 1900s.

tartalom: + 1 Lymphatic drainage massage is a manual massage carried out on the limbs of the patient. During lymph massage the obstructed lymph vessels are unblocked by gentle, pumping movements and the drainage of the accumulated lymph fluid is accelerated. Once the fluid accumulated in the lymphoid tissue is drained, the disorders of the lymphatic system, swellings and metabolic disturbances are eliminated and the immune system is stimulated. In the case of chronic problems it is recommended to apply a series of treatments. The duration of the massage is approximately 1.5 hours, depending on the surface size the lymphatic drainage therapist is treating. During the treatment and after the treatment patient feels a nice sensation; the treatment does not cause any pains. Patients with low blood pressure might feel a slight dizziness at the end of the treatment. In this case it is recommended to stay in horizontal position and to stack the patient’s feet. cím: Hundreds of wishes written on coloured ribbons in Hévíz

lead: The two-thousand-year-old legend about the miraculous healing lake has been revived

tartalom: + 1 The most well-known Hévíz legend about the formation of the lake and its miraculous effect is linked to the Roman Emperor Flavius Theodosius. According to the legend, Flavius suffered from infantile paralysis. Every day, his Christian nurse prayed to Virgin Mary asking for the boy’s recovery. Virgin Mary answered her prayers and brought forth water. A whole lake was formed from the thermal spring. The nurse bathed the ill child in the water of the lake regularly. Miraculously, Flavius got over his illness by the help of the water and became a strong, healthy ruler, the emperor of the Roman Empire. Out of gratitude, he declared Christianity the official religion throughout the realm in 391. The legendary curative lake is none other than Lake Hévíz, in the water of which thousands of patients have been healed and have regained the pleasure of healthy movement since then. Where once a miracle happened, there it can happen any time again. Next to Villa Rustica (Roman Ruin Garden, at the end of Attila Street in Hévíz), the ribbons placed on the “Wall of Wishes” revive the Roman legend. Up to now, hundreds of Flavius wish ribbons have been placed on the “Wall of Wishes” by the guests of Hévíz. They wished, for instance, for world peace, health and happiness for their families, travel and long life, or successful school-leaving examination. Come and browse over the ribbons, then wish something. Write your wish on the ribbon and place it among the other wish ribbons. cím: You don’t need to wait until the weekend!

tartalom: + 1 It is almost customary that during the summer there is a good festival in almost every city in the weekends. Most of the time, it is almost impossible to choose from the better and better festivals to visit. Unfortunately, there are few outdoor programs, concerts in the weekdays. Here, in Hévíz it's on the contrary! In addition to the festivals organised for the weekend, our city is preparing with programs for each night of the week. On Monday evenings, the Operetta Theatre of Budapest entertains our guests in Fontana Cinema. For years, one of the most well-known Hungarian operetta singer Marika Oszvald performs on our stage who was also awarded with the prestigious Kossuth and Jászai Mari awards. Tickets are available for purchase in Fontana Cinema and in the Tourinform Office for 3900 HUF. On Tuesdays, the Summer Evenings of Music program awaits our guests who enjoy music. Every week, different artists of several genre entertain the lovers of music on the small stage of Festetics square. From world music to folk music, everyone can find something for themselves to enjoy. The concerts are free of charge. On Wednesdays, live music can be listened to in the vinehills of Egregy. The four-member band with dancers usually play Moldovan folk songs and teaches dance moves for the audience. If you don't want to dance, the songs are still worth listening to while you are having a wonderful dinner. Furthermore, on Wednesdays a Historical Premium Vine Tasting is organised in the Museum of Egregy. Every attendee can visit the museum, the buffet, and the vine tasting as well. If you want to attend the program, you must apply for it in advance either at the venue or in the Tourinform Office by Tuesday night. The program costs 7000 HUF. Also on Wednesdays, organ concerts can be listened to in the Heart of Jesus Church (also known as Green Church) in Egregy. From week to week, Miklós Teleki's organ play can be heard occasionaly with additional guest musicians. From August, the concerts will be held in the freshly renovated Holy Spirit Church (also known as Blue Church).  Tickets are available for purchase for 2400 HUF and 2100 HUF (for pensioners) at the venue and in the Tourinform Office. On Thursdays, we are also preparing with programs. In recent years, on the stage of the Market of Hévíz a folklore program was held which was so successful that it had to be moved to another venue. This year, the program is called „Táncba hív a nóta rózsám...” (quotation form a folk song)  and can be seen at the stage in Deák Square. The Nagyváthy Folkdance Group prepares with an hour long program including several songs from different Hungarian regions with 4-8 dance pairs. The attendance is free of charge. On the last Friday of every month, a historical walk in the city is organised for the ones who are interested in the legends, myths, and the hidden gems surrounding the city. The attendance is free of charge, however, registration in advance is necessary in Fontana Cinema. From Fridays to Sundays, usually festivals make the summer exciting. In July, the festival programs organised are called Flavours, Dances, Good Neighbours and Maria Magdalena's Saint's Day which is held in Egergy. In August, Nostalgia Weekend and Vine Festival awaits our guests. The attandence on the festivals are free of charge. If you are staying in Hévíz, there is one more place you must visit. The Market next to the Great Parking Lot is open on every Tuesday and Saturday mornings and on every Thursday afternoon. The Market offers not only fresh vegetables and fruits but handmade items and antiques for the visitors. Opening hours till 31. December: Tuesday and Saturday 7.00-13.00 and Thursday 13.00-19.00. cím: The changing-rooms at the main entrance of Hévíz Lake Bath is being renewed

lead: The main entrance of the Lake Bath located in the Dr Schulhof Vilmos Promenade closes on the 4th November and it is expected to stay closed until June 2020.

tartalom: + 1 Alexandra Czene, the manager of the Hévíz Lake Bath, told us that the temporary closure of the main entrance of Hévíz Lake Bathis needed due to renovation. The renovation will take at least 6-7 months, so the popular entrance with the cherubs in the Dr Schulhof Vilmos Promenade is expected to reopen in June. The dressing rooms of the main entrance buildingwill be renovated.The dressing rooms will undergo complex renovation work from November, so next summer, a completely refurbished, much nicer and more modern changing-room will be offered forvisitors. During the closing period, the Hévíz Lake Bath will be accessible via the entrance of the Festetics Bathhouse (Ady Endre Street), and the cash desks will continue to operate withthe usual opening hours. The Festetics Bathhouse entrance is accessible by car from Ady Street.Parking is available in the parking lot next to the overfall weir and,driving along Ady Street, in the designated car park, where you can also charge electric cars. On foot or by bicycle from Deák Square (bus station), you can reach the Festetics entrance in about 10 minutes by going along the promenade between the protective forest and Lake Hévíz. Walking along the Dr Schulhof Vilmos Promenade past the main entrance of the Lake Bath, the other entrance can be accessed by following the lake fence; it is about a 3 minutes' walk from the 'cherub' entrance. During the transitional period, visitors will be able to use the dressing rooms of the Festetics Bathhouse and, if necessary, the staff of the Lake Bath will also create temporary dressing rooms at several points of the bath, about which visitorswillbe informed. Despite the renovation work, the Lake Bath is not planning to close or temporarily shut down, so you can expect to be able to enjoy the services of Lake Hévíz in the winter too.However, the spa staff would like to kindly ask for the visitors’ patience and understanding if the operating changing-rooms will be a bit more crowded during the winter, especially in the holiday season. By the time the open-air bath opens in May,hopefully, the cash desks of the main entrance, which now are closing, will be opened partially, or, depending on the number of visitors and the weather, the Deák Square entrance will be opened a little earlier in order to providean easier access to the open-air bath andthe summer changing-rooms. Visitors to the spa will also experience other work around the main entrance, as there will be public utility work in front of the main entrancein the spring, followed by a major promenade renovation, which is expected in the second half of next year.However, these works are not related to the renovation of the changing-room of Lake Bath.

The last sprint section leads right through Hévíz on 11 May, 2020. The 103rd Giro d'Italia starts in Hungary with the 9.5 km long individual time trial through Budapest on 9 May, 2020. The flat, around 200 km long sections of the 2nd and 3rd stage, which lead to Györ and Nagykanizsa, are taking place between 10 and 11 May. The last sprint section of stage 3 runs through the middle of Hévíz (11.05.20) including the main street of the popular spa and wellness resort. We are sure that the city will be filled with a certain feeling of jubilation, not to mention the atmosphere provided by the frenetic supporting programs organised in the city. Each day of the Easter Festival the visitors awaitwith fairs, playhouses and traditional food, of course.         30 April -1 May | Hévíz at the Turn of the Century The event, which was started in 2011, evokes the ‘golden years’ of Hévíz, a period that lasted from the 1860s to the 1930s. The town tries to recall the atmosphere of the palmy days of peace in every possible way during the event: organ-grinders wearing tails and top hat play music in the streets, ladies dressed in hoop skirt and hat walk in the flowering park leading to the thermal lake. The event will be opened by a costume parade accompanied with live music and dance, in the course of which the professions and trades of the period will be presented.   9-10 May | 5th Running Festival of Hévíz The runners who manage to run 4-14-21 km will not only get to experience a well-organised event but they also will be gifted T-Shirts, medals and an unforgettable experience! Lotus Retro Concours D'Elegance At the Lotus Retro Mobil Concours d'Elegance, precious and exotic collectibles from Hungary, Austria and Germany find their way to Hévíz. The parish feast is held in her honour on Mary Magdalene’s Day every year. In addition to children’s programmes, handcraft workshops and folk playground await visitors. The new wine will be blessed in the Holy Spirit Church. It will be followed by a lamp-lit march from the church to the location of the festival. We will still be here when the epidemic is over.” In Hévíz, generations have grown up and lived their lives in the world of hospitality. They have experienced difficult situations, from wars to natural disasters, for which reason they have been prepared for almost everything. Based on many years of experience, every effort is being made to mitigate the risk of the epidemic, while keeping the safety of our guests and those living and working in Hévíz fully in mind. “At the same time, we cannot forget the guests who are still in Hévíz, as, Hévíz being a health resort, many guests stay here for a longer time to take treatments for their locomotive disorders and complaints. Under normal circumstances, accommodation, hospitality and catering facilities give priority to meeting high hygiene standards, for which they are now even more prepared. Additional hand sanitizers have been deployed in community spaces, the cleaning and disinfecting activities have been multiplied, cutlery disinfection rules have been tightened, and, if required, the chlorine content of swimming pool waters has been increased according to NFCSO (National Food Chain Safety Office) guidelines. The Spa asks its visitors to follow the rules regarding hygiene and use only the showers which are located outside on the beach.  The indoor areas are being sanitized continuously, but they are not open yet for guests. Lake Hévíz is in the unique situation that the 4.4 hectare of natural, clean thermal water constantly changes and cleans itself naturally due to its discharge rate of 410 litres per second. The temperature of the lake revolves around 30 °C as of right now, thanks to the thermal springs inside the lake. This way outdoor swimming and bathing is really pleasant right now. Lake Hévíz is also surrounded by a 6.6-hectare forest, where guests coming to Hévíz can easily avoid crowds and be in the fresh air while enjoying themselves in the shadows of the wonderful swamp cypresses.     The Hotels Are Preparing to Open too Hotels in Hévíz are accepting reservations from Whitsun, however, most of the hotels will stay closed during the weeks before that.  Currently the staffs of the hotels are working behind closed doors; they are making everything in preparation for the arriving guests so they can enjoy their stay in the cleanest and safest environment. For the time being, the most important thing is safety. All the hotels do everything in their power to follow the safety rules made by the Hungarian Government and the statements released by the Hungarian Touristic Agency in their COVID guidebook. In Hévíz, there were no problems regarding tidiness in the hotels before the outbreak of the virus either, most restaurants and community centrums had already had hand sanitizers placed out. Currently they are working together to make buffet cafeterias 100% safe for the hotel guests: safety is important for all of us especially regarding the touch-free service and keeping the suggested social distance.   The Farmers’ Market of Hévíz and Other Attractions Since 4 May, Hévíz has started to revive: the terraces of the restaurants and cafés are starting to open up, the windows of stores are being reorganised. Parks and playgrounds are also open, the new plants and flowers for the summer were also set up in the flowerbeds. Soon you will be able to find your favourite ice cream at the best ice cream parlour in the city, at the Rózsakert Restaurant. Soon the best wines will be also available at the cellars and restaurants at the Egregy vineyards. The Farmers’ Market of Hévíz is also open with the regular working hours three times a week; however, between 9 and 11 am only people over 65 years old can purchase the fresh fruits and vegetables. At the market, the use of face masks is compulsory! For the re-opening of the museums and the cinema we still have to wait. Events still cannot be organised, however, the local government is trying to find a solution so the streets of Hévíz can be filled up with music again with avoiding the big gatherings as well. The Tourinform Office of Hévíz is still only open via telephone or e-mail. The office is set to be open again in the second half of May, until then feel free to contact our collegaues who help guests gladly! Shops are already open and terraces of cafés started to get full of life slowly. Lake Hévíz has been open since 9 May, so visitors can swim again in the 30°C lake under the blue sky. The first guests have already arrived in private accommodations. Four hotels will be open by the Whitsun weekend, however, reservations are accepted in every hotel. The hotels are very flexible regarding rescheduling the previously booked dates. During these two months everyone was busy with renovating and renewing so they could provide their guests a better environment than ever.  The safety precautions and hygiene restrictions are taken very seriously everywhere. tartalom: + 1 The Bobo Fun Park is more than a regular adventure park. This is the perfect place for both children and adults to have some fun or blow off steam. The fun park is also a remarkable venue to organise birthday parties, dates or team-building days! The Bobo Fun Park has opened its gates on 14 June 2021. The Fun Park can be found in Alsópáhok, next to Hotel Kolping. If you are looking for some active leisure time or your children need some place to play... this place has everything in the 3000 m2 big hall! The fun park is located in an indoor facility which makes it perfect to visit during rainy days as well. The park is open for everyone over 6 years old.     THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE ENTERING You can buy two kinds of tickets: one from 10 am to 2 pm and another from 3 pm to 7 pm. Tickets are available for purchase online and at the venue as well. You can arrive anytime but you have to leave the park at 2 pm and 7 pm. Between 2 pm and 3 pm and after 7 pm the crew of the park cleans up and also sanitizes the venue so children could play in a nice and tidy environment. At the moment the park can only be visited with immunity/vaccination cards over 18 years old.     THINGS YOU SHOULD LEAVE AT HOME AND THING YOU WILL NEED It is strictly forbidden to bring in food or drinks with you so the park could remain as clean as possible. You can have some refreshments and snacks at the café of the fun park. When you first enter the park, you have to purchase a pair of grip socks (non-slip socks). You can keep these socks and bring them with you next time. If you want to try out the climbing walls as well, you should bring a pair of indoor shoes which have clean and light-coloured soles. Before entering you have to fill in a declaration of liability form. Under 10 years old, children can enter only with an adult, between 10-18 they should have a statement of consent from their parents. Come to the Bobo Fun Park and enjoy yourself!
