The jury took into consideration the quality of services (investigated on the basis of the MSZÉSZ' own mystery shopper tests), the innovative sales and hotel management methods, the revenue-indicators, Human Resources practices, CSR as well as the opinions of guests (on hotel review and reservation websites such TripAdvisor, Booking, Expedia, Holidaycheck, etc.).   We are especially proud of this award, because long years of well considered development policy, the customer-centric mentality and the hard work of nearly 200 workers have been rewarded with this prize. tartalom: + 1 After 220 years of medical experience and research, the Traditional Hévíz Therapy became a trademark of Hévíz in 2015. The therapy consists of three basic and four complementary treatments using the healing properties of sulphurous magnesium carbonate water. Experts have recognized that a significant part of the hydro, movement, physio- and electrotherapies of the Traditional Hévíz Therapy is suitable for the treatment of certain problems of the Post-Covid syndrome. In addition, the mineral content of Lake Hévíz, the evaporating water and the climatic effect of the 60-hectare Protective Forest surrounding the lake are also very effective in achieving the healing effect. The Post-Covid Care programme will work on the model of the already proven Traditional Hévíz Therapy. Patients arriving in Hévíz with post-Covid-19 symptoms will receive professional and personalised treatments in the comfort of a hotel, under medical supervision. The programme and the quality of the treatments will be identical, regardless of which Hévíz location the patient chooses.   THE PROCESS OF POST COVID CARE EXAMINATIONS AND TREATMENTS IN HÉVÍZ The specialists in Hévíz try to alleviate or, if possible, eliminate the symptoms of Post-Covid syndrome, such as shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle weakness, concentration and psychological problems. The patient's condition is assessed before arrival using an online questionnaire, and a full medical examination is available before the treatment starts, either at the hotel or at a local private clinic. The specialists aim to put together an individualised treatment programme, as Post-Covid symptoms vary considerably from patient to patient. If the severity of the symptoms indicates it, they may even recommend a hospitalisation different from the programme. The Post Covid Care tests and treatments are designed and supervised by rheumatologists, internists, cardiologists, dieticians and mental health professionals with decades of experience. After the results of endurance, muscle strength of the main muscle groups, oxygen saturation, cardiological and laboratory tests, the recommended treatment programme for the patient is drawn up. Depending on the results, the intensity and frequency of the exercise will also be decided. The duration of the Post-Covid Care treatments varies depending on the severity of the symptoms but is at least one week. The treatments aim to achieve the best possible recovery and fuller rehabilitation as far as possible without the use of medication and with a targeted treatment plan (active movement therapy, passive treatment methods and other physiotherapy techniques). It is mainly used for improving stamina, but it’s also suitable for the development of muscles and for stress-releasing purposes. Aqua aerobic is usually a group exercise, where a trainer presents the movements, many times with background music. The exercises practiced in the water are identical to the exercises practiced on land, but the body is lighter in the water due to the raising force. Therefore aqua aerobic is recommended also for those, who are not advised to do exercises on land. As these exercises do not strain the joints due to the resistance of the water, aqua aerobic is also suitable for strengthening the muscles.     It has a positive impact on the metabolism, fat burning can be increased and it also stimulates the heart and cardiovascular system. Furthermore water is a great body-shaping substance. Anyone can practice aqua aerobics, independently from age, sex or health condition. It is even recommended during pregnancy or for the elder generations.    Underwater therapeutic exercise shall also be mentioned. The „Aperitif bar” at the entrance of the restaurant has also undergone a complete transformation, and under the name of VinoBar it awaits the guests with new, fresh green colours and furnishings, as well as Hungarian wine offer. The most noticeable changes can be seen in the swimming pool. All of the internal pools has got a completely new look, all the covers has renewed, the white walls has got new colours, so the experience bath as well as the indoor swimming pool diverse from one another in their atmosphere and colours, according to their function. The cover exchanges in addition to walking surfaces affected also the inside part of the pools.   All the bathrooms in the main building has been renovated. Similarly to the reconstruction of the apartment building, a completely new design applied also in the bathrooms, where the functionality play the major role. Following our guest’s expectations we reduced the number of rooms with bathtub, and with this we increased the number of rooms with comfortable shower cabin.

tartalom: + 1 In 2015, Hévíz created its own trademark for the accreditation of therapies based on Lake Hévíz's medicinal properties. The effectiveness of Traditional Hévíz Therapy, which has excellent results in alleviating musculoskeletal complaints, is proven by the 220-year-old history of thermal medicine, thousands of recovered guests and modern medical research. In addition to bathing in medicinal water, the basic elements of the Traditional Hévíz Therapy are mudpack and weight bath. As an additional treatment, drinking medicinal water from the drinking fountain is part of the package as well as various massages, movement therapies, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy. Ideally, the duration of the cure is two weeks. Institutions that have the necessary professional and medical background, as well as the medical infrastructure for the therapy (e.g. thermal water pool, weight bath, facilities for carrying out mud packs), are eligible for the trademark. Every two years, a professional committee verifies whether the requirements are met. On 15th February 2019, three experienced rheumatologists, Dr Annamária Bergmann, Dr Gábor Domokos and Dr Sándor Csordás, personally visited the institutions providing the Therapy to check the infrastructure and staffing conditions of the Traditional Hévíz Therapy. The Managing Director of Tourism Non-profit Ltd. of Hévíz, Horváth Orsolya said that the timing of the Therapy's branding was a special pleasure for the town, as it was 220 years ago this year that the first bathhouse had been built on the lake. In the course of these two centuries the Traditional Hévíz Therapy has simply become a brand. The qualification certificates related to the Therapy were handed over by the Mayor of Hévíz, Papp Gábor and the Managing Director of the Tourism Ltd., Horváth Orsolya. In addition to bathing in medicinal water, the basic element of the Therapy are mud bath and weight bath. As additional treatment, the consumption of the medicinal water from a drinking-fountain is also a part of the healing process, as well as massages, movement therapies, and physio- and hydro therapies too. The duration of the therapy is two weeks in a standard case. Professionals, specialised in this area, has worked on the development of the standardised Therapy, the fruit of their work is the establishment of a unique healing system. In the qualification of the institutes providing the cure prominent doctors has acted, such as the Medical Director of Spa Hévíz and Saint Andrew's Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, Dr. Mándó Zsuzsanna, the Sports Doctor and Rheumatologist of NaturMed Hotel Carbona**** superior, Dr. Major Zoltán and the Chief Physician of the Hotel Európa fit****superior, Dr. Moll Veronika, who happens to be the inventor of weight bath, Dr. Moll Károly's daughter. The professional knowledge of the creators of the medical brand guarantees that those who want to recover here in Hévíz will be able to receive a therapy system, which is worthy of traditions and constantly advancing with the times. - Horváth Orsolya said. She sees the professionalism of the Therapy in two factors: presence of skills and medical supervision. The Manager of the Tourism Ltd. also said that the Traditional Hévíz Therapy primarily can be called the trademark of Hévíz and the town intends to raise the brand to European-level. The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market is the institution that is responsible for trademark protection in the European Union. Hévíz has submitted the logo of the Therapy here, and in addition the town has a good chance to receive positive judgement, because there is currently no competing logo in the market. The final decision is expected by October. The practitioners of the Traditional Hévíz Therapy will be entitled to use the official logo of the therapy, every institution, which has the sufficient professional, therapeutic background and medical infrastructure (pool with medicinal water, weight bath, facilities for mud packing, etc.), will be able to do so. tartalom: + 1 On 29th July 2015, the European Commission signed the grant contract, in the framework of which a 15 months' health tourism development was launched. The international project „OFF TO SPAS” is implemented in the cooperation of 7 partners of 4 countries. Hungary is represented by Pannon University (project coordinator), Tourism Non-profit Ltd. of Hévíz and the Municipality of County Zala, further members of the consortium are: AGE Platform Europe AISBL, Consiliul Judetean Covasna, Asociatia Pentru Dezvoltarea Turismului in Judetul Covasna and Travel Specialist Group Sweden AB. The aim of the project is to create a Central European transnational balneological tourism product for the older (senior) age group that extends the market of medicinal and thermal tourism to those sending areas where the demand for medicinal and wellness tourism related to natural waters can be increased.  Objectives of the project: to create a tourism product network that takes into account the special needs of the older age group, to improve the number and quality of the cooperation between the members of the tourism value chain and the organisations/associations of the elderly, to increase the turnover of low or middle season in terms of tourism in order to improve the effectiveness and competitiveness of tourism SMEs, to promote tourism as the strategy of active and healthy aging, to increase the professionalism of the tourism service providers in order to ensure the sustainability and self-development of the project. For the sake of all these, the following main activities will be implemented by the partners: Conducting a research in support of the health tourism development: market study concerning the elderly, surveys, comparative analyses, researches testing the market of the elderly and balneological issues, involving the membership of AGE Platform as well as the customers of the travel agency Travel Specialist Group Sweden AB, Creating a balneological tourism product network, - through the example of Hévíz and Covasna - which offers location- and market-specific medical and health assistance programs for the older age group,   Discussion forums, workshops related to the project for the purpose of network building and partnerships, and exchanging good practices,  Extensive marketing communication, which addresses decision makers and potential travellers, and conforms to the special needs of target groups and to tourism trends. The first step of the project ending in September 2016 is the two days' meeting starting today in Hévíz, during which the participating partners coordinate the main tasks and actions.  The application was submitted in December 2014 by the partners for the European Commission's invitation to tender with the identification number „COS-TFLOWS-2014-3-15”. Due to the application prepared on high professional standards, the European Commission considered the project eligible for funding with the originally requested budget – with EUR 208,565 EU funds and EUR 69,533 deductibles. At the European Union level, a total of 10 application won support in the calling for tender.

tartalom: + 1 Within the framework of the Jubilee Congress of the 125-year-old Hungarian Balneological Association, the final conference and professional workshop of the OFF to SPAS project was held in Hévíz on 18-19-20 November 2016. During the program, participants were given detailed information about the results of the international project, and were able to become acquainted with European organisations, such as the European Spa Association, the European Network for Accessible Tourism, the Transylvanian Balneotourism Cluster, the International Social Tourism Organisation - ISTO Europe and the EuropeSpa medical & wellness organisation. During the project ( August 2015 - November 2016), the partners: Conducteda research in support of the health tourism development: market study concerning older people, surveys, comparative  analyses, researches testing the market of older touristsand balneological issues, involving the Nordic members of AGE Platform Europe, as well as the customers of the travel agency Travel Specialist Group Sweden AB, set up a balneological tourism product network, - through the example of Hévíz and Covasna - which offers location, market-specific medical and health assistance programs for the older age group, set up discussion forums, workshops related to the project for the purpose of network building and partnerships, and exchanging good practices, performed extensive marketing communication, addressed decision makers and potential travellers, and conformed to the special needs of target groups and to tourism trends. The promotion of the senior tourism is a strategy for active and healthy ageing. In fact travelling provides life satisfaction and helps people stay active, avoids loneliness and lack of meaning in the later stages of life and tackle social exclusion, which are some of the main issues older people face today. Travelling can be an enriching experience for senior citizens as it provides a change in their daily routine; it involves discovery, interaction with the environment, intercultural contact and social interaction. The well-ness and care experience are definitely a plus that the balneological tourism can add and value, for both the older and younger populations, an investments for ageing well. About the Off to Spas project (676737/COSME Programme): In accordance with the European Union’s objective to foster low/medium season tourism (COSME Programme), a European consortium has launched the ‘Off to Spas’ project (COSME 676737). The project aims at creating new, thermal water related international health tourism products (international balneology product) in the spa towns of Central Europe that could serve as a main attraction in order to bring seniors to these regions in the low tourism seasons. The main objectives of the project: Encourage a better cooperation and increased agreements among different actors of the health tourism value chain and seniors associations/organisations with elaborating a new, international balneologytourism product network focused on off-season, and custom tailored toseniors specific needs; To make more benefit for tourism SMEs by increasing the number of tourism flows during the low and medium seasons and professionalization of tourism service providers; Communication and promotion of tourism as a strategy for active and healthy ageing; Facilitate accessibility in tourism offers, along with intermodal transfer and transnational connectivity; Foster the construction of innovative health insurance policies in order to make the product sustainable and self-developing in the future. The health tourism product development process included a wide range of activities from research to monitoring, and was supported by the active marketing communication of involved partners. lead: The lymphatic drainage massage was developed and pioneered by Dr. Emil Vodder, Danish biologist at the beginning of the 1900s.

tartalom: + 1 Lymphatic drainage massage is a manual massage carried out on the limbs of the patient. During lymph massage the obstructed lymph vessels are unblocked by gentle, pumping movements and the drainage of the accumulated lymph fluid is accelerated. Once the fluid accumulated in the lymphoid tissue is drained, the disorders of the lymphatic system, swellings and metabolic disturbances are eliminated and the immune system is stimulated. In the case of chronic problems it is recommended to apply a series of treatments. The duration of the massage is approximately 1.5 hours, depending on the surface size the lymphatic drainage therapist is treating. During the treatment and after the treatment patient feels a nice sensation; the treatment does not cause any pains. Patients with low blood pressure might feel a slight dizziness at the end of the treatment. In this case it is recommended to stay in horizontal position and to stack the patient’s feet.
