tartalom: + 1 It is an ancient massage based on Far-eastern traditions. Thai massage is a dry massage, no oils or lotions are used during the treatment; clients wear comfortable light clothes. This form of bodywork is usually performed on the floor or on a mattress. During the massage the acupuncture points are stimulated by using a point pressurizing technique. In Thai massage the techniques of acupressure are joined with stretching, dislocating and snapping elements. Thai masseurs use their hands, elbows, knees and feet during the treatment. An original Thai massage takes about an hour to one and half hours. As it is longer than a traditional massage, the impact of the massage lasts also longer. After the massage client is both physically and mentally rejuvenated, the blood circulation is stimulated and the energies of the body are also activated.  Thai massage does not move the muscles, but by the stimulation of the acupuncture points equalizes the body parts. Regular application of Thai massage has a beneficial impact on the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, digestive and locomotor (joint and spine problems, back and lower back aches) diseases and provides client with a sense of physical well-being. Treatments used to take place in churches, they were rather considered as mental exercise than physical treatment. In terms of Thai massage the Wat Pho Church located in Bangkok is still an important training and healing centre.

lead: Fango is a word with Italian origin and it means odourless and hot mineral mud from volcanic earth.
tartalom: + 1  The person carrying out the Fango treatment is called a fangino. A town located in Northern-Italy is famous for Fango treatments, where local residents have been using the healing power of the Fango mud for over 2500 years ago.  Fango is a word with Italian origin and it means odourless and hot mineral mud from volcanic earth. The mud is directly exposed to thermal water, sunshine and air. A so-called “maturing” period is required (which might take up to six months), and during this period Fango slowly fills up with organic substance and “mature Fango” is created. This way Fango becomes suitable for medicinal purposes. The hot mud pack inhibits inflammations, activates the metabolism, stimulates the immune system and helps to prevent the development of illnesses.   During Fango body treatment the hot Fango substance is poured on a plastic foil in a thickness of approximately 2 cm and it is left to cool down to 40 - 50 °C. The guest lays down on the Fango and his/her back is also covered with the material and guest shall spend 20 minutes in the sweating cocoon. The body is wrapped up in hot Fango pack, which results in faster blood circulation and the expansion of the blood vessels. Algae particles of Fango stimulate endorphin hormone production and thus mitigate the pain. Besides the extremely positive impacts of Fango therapy, it is important to note that Fango treatments cause intensive hot sensation, therefore application is not recommended for guests suffering from the below-listed conditions: varicose vein, high blood pressure, blood vessel condition, heart diseases, malignant tumours and acute inflammation.  The traditional Fango body treatment takes place in 4 steps: mudpack thermal bath sweating and finally a massage   As Fango therapy extremely overstrains the body, it is recommended applying the therapy only once or twice a year. Medical consultation is recommended prior applying the treatment. During a therapy 12 to 15 treatments are recommended.

As a matter of fact it is an energetic treatment, which uses massage and dislocating techniques. Those points are stimulated by this massage, which are located on the energy flow paths of the body. It is based on the meridian system mentioned at the description of the acupressure treatment and on the stimulation of the given acupressure points. Patients are allowed to wear clothing during treatments. The aim of Chinese massage is to remove the barriers obstructing vital power (Qi) flow and to harmonise the body’s energy management. The masseur achieves the required effect by putting pressure on the respective points of the meridian system. Chinese massage technique can be applied in two ways, but it also depends on the treated person and body part. If the aim is to strengthen and stimulate the body the application of Yang technique is recommended; if we wish to relax the body, Yin technique shall be used. Chinese massage therapy is ideal for muscular fatigueness, back- and muscle aches, joint and spine disorders, gynaecological problems, for the mitigation of chronic or virulent rheumatic disorders, furthermore it plays an important role in prevention. Interesting facts First written record related to Chinese massage was found in one of the medical books of the Yellow Emperor. In terms of its basic principles it’s a uniform method, but there are various versions of Chinese massage. Number 36 is an important element in the Chinese massage as it is used as a measurement unit.

tartalom: + 1 The Hungarian spa town of Hévíz is famous for its sulphurous thermal lake and its unconventional therapies. The devil himself once worked the fields around here, but it was such hard going that in a fit of rage, old Harry flung down his plow so hard that it shot deep into the earth – or so the ancient Hungarian legend goes. Warm water henceforth flowed from a spring on that spot and has fed the thermal lake ever since. Resort entrance The reality on this early fall morning in Hévíz is less dramatic:14 degrees Celsius and a light drizzle. After a cool night,a white mist hangs over the deep-blue lake and the bathhouse on stilts at its center with its pretty wooden spires. It looks straight out of a Disney film, but smells like a sulfur mine.   Author Mathias Becker in the thermal lake I wait on the shore, shivering in my shorts. I’m supposed to take a dip in the lake, but not before an attendant has arrived– for safety’s sake. The fumes apparently make some people feel woozy in the water. I stick my big toe in to test it – lukewarm. When my potential life saver comes into sight soon after, I slide into the lake like a fish eager to return to its element. Sedately, I swim by water lilies and on into the fairy-tale landscape. Somewhere beneath me lies the lake’s geological source: Every second, 410 liters of mineral-rich water, heated naturally to a very pleasant temperature by the earth, flow from a crack inthe rock 38 meters down. That’s why the water temperature can be as high as 38° C in summer and only go down to 25° C in  winter. Regular bathing in the lake is said to ease rheumatic complaints and back pain; drinking the water in healing doses reputedly aids digestive disorders. The mists have now evaporated and the first bathers of the day are stepping into the lake. Nearly all have a brightly colored foam pool noodle around their hips. It looks silly but helps keep them afloat – a safety precaution. You’re not supposed to stay in the water for more than half an hour anyway, and it’s completely off limits for anyone with cardiovascular problems. I swim slowly back, then make myself comfortable on one of the sunbeds around the inner pool. The lake has made me drowsy. Tropical waterlilies With a surface area of over four hectares, this thermal lake is the largest in the world suitable for bathing. There is one in New Zealand of a similar size, but at a constant temperature of 55 to 60° C, it is better suited to steaming vegetables than bathing. The Hévíz lake resort, on the other hand, is like a warm bathtub even in frosty weather, making the small town on the western shore of Lake Balaton Hungary’s most popular place of pilgrimage for those with back and joint complaints, even despite its competition within Hungary. From the famous Turkish baths in Budapest to the cave baths of Miskolc (where you have to swim through tenebrous tunnels) and the thermal baths in Hajdúszoboszló (one of Europe’s largest), more than 1300 thermal springs make the country on the Pannonian Plaina veritable healing hotspot. Many a source was only discovered while drilling for oil, but the warm waters of Hévíz were already popular with the ancient Romans. Bathing culture ended soon after the fall of Rome and was only revived in the late 18th century. First came the nobles and the bourgeoisie; then, in the Communist era, it was the turn of the workers. Allegedly, it was the party big wigs who involuntarily stopped the fun: Duringone of their sauna parties, the wooden bathhouse caughtfire and burned down. Rebuilt in 1989, the bathhouse reopened when Communism ended. The old political system disappeared, but Hévíz remained and blossomed. The town recorded over a million overnight stays in 2017, around 40 percent from Hungary, the rest from across Europe. A wellness industry with massage and beauty salons has long become established in and around the resort. Hotels have installed spas, and some flood their pools with the thermal water. To get a sense of the unbroken enthusiasm for Hévíz, I booked in for some of the traditional Hévíz treatments. First, the mud bath. I climb down steps into a steel basin the size of a garden pool that’s anchored in the lake. Just a few steps, and already the heavy mud, making a gloopy, bubblysound at every step, is up to my thighs – and up to my bellybutton when I sit down. A woman beside me reaches for the grainy, strong-smelling mass and gleefully smears it onto her face and shoulders. I bravely follow her lead. That evening, I notice that my skin feels unusually soft and I sleep better that night than I have for a very long time. Awakening the next morning, I can’t wait to get moving and am ravenously hungry. After breakfast, I have a massage appointment in the wellness and therapy area. Stefania Bajer, atherapeutic and sports masseur sporting a severe undercut, greets me with a firm handshake. In just 20 minutes, she has kneaded my muscles so expertly that I still feel the beneficial effects of it days later. I ask her whether my back is in good shape. I’m 40, I jog now and again, but spend most of my time in front of the computer. I haven’t had any pain – so far. “You need to exercise more,” says Bayer, “much more!” Mud wrestler: author Mathias Becker is clearly enjoying his bath Later on, I get to see where a lack of exercise can lead at the bath house: to the underwater “stretching pool,” where patients with back problems are suspended in the water, their arms or neck fastened into a kind of harness so that they cannot move. At the same time, weights attached to their hips pull their vertebraeminimally apart, relieving the discs between them. Developed in 1953 by Károly Moll, a local physician, this therapyis still used successfully on patients with disc problems. As I have no trouble with my spinal discs, I am allowed into thewater with very little ballast for a kind of trial therapy, so to speak. My arms rest on a kind of underwater gymnastics bar and I am drawn down by two three-kilo steel weights attached toa belt. My feet make no contact. “Harascho?” In Russian, Bajerasks the young man next to me whether he’s all right – but he doesn’t look it. My neighbor is wearing the kind of neck brace people wear after a rear-impact collision, and there are two metal bars on top of it, keeping his head above water. “Harascho …,”he breathes softly. As we leave the pool 20 minutes later, Anton Marukhin tells me that he’s a 28-year-old advertising and music video producer living near Moscow, and that he suffers with back pain. “I sit a lot, maybe that’s why,” he says. The doctors in Russia couldn’t help him so his parents sent him to Hévíz. The town’s healing reputation clearly extends far beyond the borders of Hungary. The underwater stretching bath is said to ease back problems. One of the men aiming to help pain patients like Marukhinis Dr. Gábor Domokos, the rheumatology and physiotherapy consultant in charge of wellness and therapy at the resort. He wears white sneakers with his white coat and is 68 but looks much younger. That’s not from bathing in the lake, he says (he cycles a lot and hikes in the hills around Lake Balaton), adding that too much significance should not be read into the lake water alone because no precise physiological explanation has been found for how the minerals work. “But we do know that many people who come to us with chronic pain feel better after the treatment.” The secret probably lies in the package: exercise in the warm water, possibly also the water’s composition, and then the peace, the long woodland walks – recently coined as “forest bathing” – physiotherapy, and a good, healthy diet. And also the sleep, I think to myself. Besides intensive curative swimming physicians recommend longwoodland walks Dr. Gábor Domokosis head of wellness and therapy Finally, I test the mud pack: I lie down on my back and am covered from neck to toe in the warm mass and then wrapped in foil and towels like a napkin dumpling. The mud weighs heavyon my body. Not a minute later and I have dozed off once again. Several days later, once I’ve returned home, I open my case and a sulfurous cloud rises to meet me. A most stimulating odor. I pullon my running shoes and head out the door. I’ve had enough sulfur to last me awhile. Well kept: the lake amid lush greenery GETTING THERE In February, Lufthansa fliesup to six times daily from Frankfurt (FRA) and up to five times daily from Munich(MUC) to Budapest (BUD). On the one hand, most people find it important to strengthen their immune systems, while many had to find alternative solutions that can be used at home (e.g., exercising, beauty routines).
tartalom: + 1 We asked the expert of NaturMed Hotel Carbona**** to outline in a few points what new wellness trends we can expect in the new year: Linking health assessment and prevention to wellness will be a priority. Employers will be more sensitive to the health of their employees due to mental illnesses caused by working from home and the feeling of confinement. Thus, most employers may prefer to provide wellness services to their employees as a bonus. So let's see in details what the most important wellness trends this year will be!   The Key to Boosting Your Immune System: Creating a Healthy Diet and Relaxing Sleep Conditions Recently, more and more people are beginning to believe that it is better to protect their health continuously throughout the year, instead of boosting their immune system only a couple of times in a year. According to the expert of Hotel Carbona, a healthy diet has a fundamental role in strengthening our immune system, as it allows us to adjust our ideal body weight and increase our stamina. As for the trends of 2022, we will see the renaissance of cold-pressed vegetable and fruit juices. Regular consumption of these will now be less associated with seasonal juice fasting. Another key to maintain our physical and mental health is getting the right amount and quality of sleep. It is estimated that about one third of people suffer from insomnia, and in the last year or two we have seen that as a result of the pandemic and post-Covid syndrome, sleep disturbance and insomnia have become more and more common, so an increasing emphasis will be placed on sleep hygiene this year.     Lighter forms of exercises instead of high intensity trainings The recent period has also brought changes in the field of exercise. We were stuck between the four walls for months and there was no way to go to the gym or attend group classes. As a result, the popularity of online classes and instructional videos quickly rose, so we didn’t have to give up exercise at home either. On the other hand, far more people started training outdoors where they did not have to fear contacting someone else. According to the expert from Carbona, online exercise will remain popular this year as well. However, as more attention is paid towards maintaining physical and mental health, more subtle exercises aimed for all ages will be more dominant instead of high-intensity exercises. Such forms of movement include various stretching exercises, yoga or hiking.     2 in 1: medical condition assessment and wellness in one go This year, more people are expected to combine relaxation and wellness with medical assessment and prevention. One of the reasons for this is that many people did not have access to various routine examinations due to the pandemic. At the same time domestic tourism was relaunched, and spa and wellness hotels were reopened, where the medical condition survey was part of various prevention and rehabilitation package offers. And all of this can be appealing not only to those who want to be up to date with their own physical and mental health, but also to those who are struggling with post-Covid syndromes. In some accredited spas, they already have the opportunity to take part in a rehabilitation program compiled by specialists, which seeks to alleviate or eliminate physical, mental and cognitive disorders with a series of individual treatments after the condition assessment.       Innovative beauty technology tools will become even more popular this year For years, we have seen home beauty products to grow more and more popular, while companies are launching beauty products that allow us to be a beautician to some extend ourselves from the comfort of our home. This trend has been reinforced by the pandemic, as the demand for beauty technology devices that can be used at home has increased. In 2022, therefore, LED light therapy face masks, various devices with micro-current technology and innovative solutions that can even be used at home, for example, to tighten the face, will be increasingly searched after. Of course, in addition to all this, there will continue to be a great demand for the various beauty services and medical aesthetic treatments that require an expert. These include mesotherapy and radiofrequency therapy for cellulite and fat deposits, or hyaluronic acid facials.   The physical and mental health of workers will be appreciated more Of course, the pandemic also left its mark on the world of work: many people continued to work remotely while trying to reconcile their work with family life. This has been a real challenge for many, especially because not everyone likes to work from home or simply be locked up in their own apartment. The closure due to the epidemic has had a negative impact on many of us, which is why the mental health of workers will increase in 2022, according to the expert from Carbona: mental health training, even online, may become increasingly important. Where they see this as an opportunity or embedded in the corporate culture, employers are more likely to support their employees with wellness benefits. Of course, this can also depend a lot on changes in the cafeteria system at work.   One thing is sure: Hévíz is full of wellness and therapy services where you can not only rest and recharge your batteries, but you can also focus on prevention. You will be sure to choose from a wide range of accommodations based on your individual needs regarding health. We are open, and we can’t wait to meet you in Hévíz!   More information about programs, accommodations etc.: Tourinform HévízH-8380 Hévíz, Rákóczi str. 2.+36 83 540 131heviz@tourinform.hu

tartalom: + 1 The IMTM 2023 – International Mediterranean Tourism Market was held two months ago in Expo Tel Aviv for the first time after COVID. The exhibition was a success. Endless booths and representations of both countries and private tourism providers alike. Walking between the cubicles and meeting hundreds of professionals, I suddenly noticed a small modest counter in a remote corner with the Hungarian flag. There I met Petr Ostrovkin, an impressive businessman with his intrepetor. I was curious about the product he was trying to market – a hotel in Hungary he owns on a small lake I never heard of. Petr invited me to visit and within a few weeks I found myself spending an incredible time by Europe’s largest thermal basin – lake Hévíz, chick to chick with Lake Balton.
There I investigated, discovered and experienced – why do Hungarians desire top thermal baths so much. Or, is it true that Hungary is indeed a “bathing world-power”.  The explanation is rather straightforward – history, tradition and geography are all mixed, like a traditional Jewish Cholent. The Romans that ruled in ancient Hungary left first their famous mark here. They had bathing and cleaning habits. Bathing was an important part of their lifestyle, which meant refreshing the body and soul. They built baths in this region, mainly for their military forces. Several private baths were also framed by wealthy Romans in their mansions. It is believed that the Roman healers built separate bathing complexes for those who were in poor health condition.   Hungarian bath culture started flourishing with medieval Turkish rule – an art wall creation in Rudas bath, Budapest (photo by Motti Verses) Going back in time – Rudas turkish style sink, Budapest (photo by Motti Verses) However it is believed that the Hungarian bath culture started flourishing with medieval Turkish rule. The Ottoman Empire, historically  the Turkish Empire, controlled much of southeast Europe, including Hungary. They are the ones that lay down the foundations of thermal baths. The Ottomans also introduced people to the habits of their wellness treatments. Massages, body creams and oils. The Turks valued bathing as both a cleansing ritual and social gathering. The Hungarians were doubtful. Only the Turks were allowed to use the baths during the day. Curious Hungarians only went to the thermal baths at night-time, especially in Budapest that was and still is a city of bathing power. The rest is history. Over the years these baths became part of a balanced life culture in Hungary. Bearing in mind that the country has no access to an ocean or a sea, relying on Lake Balaton for recreational needs, local baths flourished. The neighbors in Austria, once part of the joint dual Monarchy under the name Austro-Hungarian Empire, similarly love thermal baths . Lake Hévíz, Europe’s largest thermal basin (photo by Motti Verses) Endless steam – Lake Hévíz (photo by Motti Verses) A small creek with water coming from the lake- similar as the hotel thermal baths (photo by Motti Verses) No wonder the small Lake Hévíz, Europe’s largest thermal basin is an extremely popular destination – a two hours drive, either from Budapest or Vienna. It is 38.5 meters deep, with 410 liters per second water flow rate and biologically volcanically active – a natural thermal lake with magical health capabilities. Some call it the fountain of life. Since 1795 these healing waters helped people to recover and regain their strength. Most visitors return home refreshed and rejuvenated. Experts indicate that the chemical ingredients of cold and hot water springs, with 40 degrees of sulphuric medicinal water here, are richer than those in thermal baths in Budapest. Hévíz is where Petr Ostrovkin’s hotel is. He hopes Israelis will in time flock to his shimmering estate. His Lotus Therme Hotel & Spa offers 232 rooms and suites and is an ultimate destination for a relaxing and therapeutic vacation. The hotel is located in a gigantic natural park within walking distance to Lake Hévíz. This walk is rather surreal along a small creek with steam water coming from the lake. Our visit was just recently but the temperatures were low and a constant drizzle dominated our stay. Endless steam evaporates as the water temperature is very high. Guests may enjoy Lake Hévíz mineral water reaching the spa via pipes. Definitely the most rewarding experiences one can enjoy here. Lotus Therme is a pampering traditional hotel. A variety of different indoor pools in contrasting water temperatures are offered. The great jacuzzi was the strongest I have ever experienced. The main round pool is heated, but does not contain healing water. Pouring rain while your body is soaked deep in hot water is just paradise. We loved our morning swim in this well maintained pool. A unique experience in any weather conditions. The wellness spa offers a variety of treatments with Lake Hévíz products, however we did not experience them. The pampering pools were just fantastic. The daily scenery from the room balcony – total relaxation (photo by Motti Verses) A great experience while swimming – constant drizzle with steam evaporation, as the water temperature is very high (photo by Motti Verses) The relaxing lobby of Lotus Therme Hotel & Spa (photo by Motti Verses) Lotus is the key element here as this water flower really blossoms on this never surprising natural wonder. Apparently they like the volcanic water and always thrive in warm water with a need room to grow. The lake provides the perfect environment and the hotel wisely promotes this unique phenomenon as a marketing tool in its logo and with endless art creations all over the facilities. Advertisement   Hungarians and Austrians might carry a mosaic of a historical ambivalent relationship, but both people surly adore Lake Hévíz. The majority of guests in the hotel originate from those countries that share love for thermal baths. Lotus Therme Hotel & Spa is offering both food and entertainment with this fact in mind. Pleasant veteran General Manager Attila Fulop is heading skilled team members that work here for many years. Dressed with formal clothes they all recognize the guests who keep returning here. Loyal customers are the best proof for success. The menu at dinner is different each evening and the variety is one of the most generous I have seen. The bar is crowded each night and live dancing with different musicians each day are offered here. Guests of all ages are actually dancing. General Manager Fulop knows his work. A dream of a good hotelier is to keep his guests in its premises and not looking for alternatives elsewhere. A variety of different indoor pools in contrasting water temperatures are offered (photo by Motti Verses) Lotus is the key element here as this water flower really blossoms on the lake (photo by Motti Verses) The bar – live dancing with different musicians each evening (photo by Motti Verses) Lotus Therme Hotel & Spa by night (photo by Motti Verses) With General Manager Attila Fulop(left) – a true Hungarian professional hotelier(photo by Motti Verses) One question remains. Will Israelis flock to Hévíz? Hamat Gader hot springs site in the Yarmouk River valley, used since the classical antiquity, is one of the most popular attractions for Israelis. With that in mind and the endless daily flights from Ben Gurion airport to Budapest, the potential is certainly there. Especially in winter when the flight costs are rock bottom. Hévíz here we come.

tartalom: + 1 We did not find any description of whether the miners, 200 of them, volunteered for the 5-year scientific observation, having no idea how well they would do. After a thorough medical examination, 400 healthy subjects were selected for the test. Based on experience, the basic premise was that 5 years of hard physical work is very taxing for the body, so miners develop more locomotor complaints after so many years, the number of partial disabilities increases and the rate of illnesses is higher. It is a well-known fact that musculoskeletal diseases are very common among people living unhealthy and/or sedentary lifestyles, as well as people who perform heavy physical work. In this regard, numerous investigations were carried out both at home and abroad in the 1960s and 1970s. What did they want to prove? At the same time, the doctors in Hévíz believed that balneotherapy (performed with water) and physiotherapeutic (performed with movement) cures in Hévíz are useful in preventing such diseases. Preventive treatment can reduce the risk of developing locomotor diseases, workers will spend less time in sick bays, and the cost of their medical treatments will be lower. In 1976, 400 miners were found to be healthy. 200 of them were included in the control group, those who had not been on a medical holiday in Hévíz for 5 years, had not received any health-preserving treatment anywhere. However, the other 200 lucky miners spent 3 weeks in the spa town every year, at the cost of their vacation, where they swam in the warm water of Lake Hévíz, received massage and mud treatments, took part in physical therapy, and received additional treatments. The preventive cures in Hévíz were not only useful and enjoyable for the 200 miners, but the research also ended with very positive results. After 5 years, in 1981, at the then Hévíz State Spa Hospital, it was established that among the 200 miners in the "untreated" control group, significantly more people became disabled and spent significantly more time in the infirmary than those who received preventive treatment. The health status of the regularly treated group clearly remains much better despite the same and equally demanding hard physical work as the control group. But this was not enough proof of the effectiveness of typical Hévíz medicinal water cures! In 1988, another study was conducted at the Hévíz State Spa Hospital, now involving 227 volunteers. In the 1980s, they tried to convince employers why it was worth sending their employees on medical leave. In the case of the 227 people, they were interested in the number of days spent in the patient population. However, the extent of this can mean a significant loss of manpower/a decrease in productivity for a company. They selected 227 patients who were treated with the same locomotor complaint, but 107 of them received medication only, while 120 were treated with a complex spa treatment repeated every year. An astonishing result was achieved in the examined period! The 120 patients who received regular spa treatments spent a total of 885 days in the hospital. In contrast, the 107 members of the control group spent 5,430 days! That's six times the number! This is such a significant difference that it had to be recognized that spa treatments regenerate people much more effectively. Today, it is considered natural that preventive and recreational complex cures and health programs are important not only for those who perform heavy physical work. In Europe, more and more people are participating in so-called manager cures, which serve to regenerate the physical and mental performance of managers who are overburdened with mental work. These are periods of two to three weeks, during which the participants run a lot, swim, eat healthy, and relax, which in many cases includes a digital detox (a period without smart devices). Don't have time for such a long vacation? Don't be discouraged! Try an intensive health program in Hévíz and you have already taken the first step towards a fitter Me. tartalom: + 1 Would it be cool though? If you want to look cool by swimming in a natural lake in winter try Lake Hévíz. The temperature of the Lake never goes below 24˙C, not even in the winter. In Hévíz it doesn't matter what season it is: it is always bathing time! This is a proven fact! Did you know? Tired muscles, cold toes, and stress dissolve in warm water! In the thermal spa pools, you can enjoy the hot steam all day and night at 36°C. Wherever you go, sooner or later (sooner is the better) you're bound to stumble upon a poolside. Melt yourself out with the power of steam! As soon as winter sets in, the sauna stones start to glow. Honey, fragrant, coconut, beer infusions, and refreshing saunas await you. You don't have to start with the 90°C Finnish sauna, instead start with the aroma or steam cabin and relax with the power of nature! A water experience in a different way! Ever been paddling in winter? Have you ever paddled at all? Only here, and only in winter, you can experience it on the Hévíz Stream. Not only the experience is special, but the landscape is also a sight to behold! Which is why only a very limited number of paddlers can paddle on a stretch of about 10 km. If you want to go on a canoe trip, you should book early for this programme! But good news: it is safe for children too and even recommended for beginners! In fact, zigzagging is even more fun. Forget the water! Warm water and steam are not the only ways to warm up. Explore the so called ‘Vadlán-lik (Wild Girl’s Cave) or find out yourself if the basalt organs really play some music or not. Finally, make a selfie from the top of one of the lookout towers of the Keszthely Hills, or from the Castle of Szigliget, with Lake Balaton and the basalt hills in the background! Catch fire! Would you like to participate in a small adventure tour, just here, just in town, preferably not too long? Join a torch-lit tour of the town, discover the secrets of Hévíz on a magical evening on our night tour! You can sign up for the tour at the Tourinform in Hévíz.   There’s a Plan B! You arrived in the city, and it’s raining all day.  Don't stay home! It's open now as well! If you like challenges and moving a lot The Adrenalin Arena in Alsópáhok is the perfect choice for you. The Arena is fun for adults and for children as well. For the less adventurous, Keszthely's Helikon Castle Museum is the place to visit. In the castle you can spend days, since there are six different exhibitions waiting for you to explore them all. You may also find some other thermal baths in the area as well filled with slides and many pools. You're here to relax, not to jump!  Stay in the hotel and head to the spa. There's nothing better than one or more pampering sessions, a nice relaxing massage, a scented bath or some beauty treatments. Don’t forget to eat! Morning, noon, evening, anytime - have a steaming drink; tea, coffee, mulled wine, punch, hot chocolate and/or eat hot cream soups, pancakes, roasts, or the finest lángos in the city. You don't have to go down to the bar if you don't want to. Order everything from the hotel and spend the whole day in bed. Although you can do that at home too, although you would miss the room service! Change your perspective! No snow? You can still enjoy your winter vacation!

tartalom: + 1 Why not? It is possible outside of the heated indoor baths as well! The temperature of Europe’s largest thermal lake is about as high as 30°C even in the autumn! In the early autumn weather, it is a really refreshing experience to swim in the warm water or to bathe at the beach. You don’t believe us? Try it yourself! It is not a coincidence that our frequent guests tend to choose the autumn months for their stay since they can still enjoy our bath when the beaches of Lake Balaton are already too cold to visit. See the city before and after your bath! Which city should you see first? Hévíz, Keszthely, Tapolca, Badacsony, Szigliget… There are so many experiences waiting for only you to discover in the West-Balaton area! It is not too hot anymore, but the cold weather is still far away, so we have the best weather for some exploring!
