The city became peaceful and silent in no matter of time. By the middle of May, the long awaited moment has arrived: life gets back to normal in Hévíz! Shops are already open and terraces of cafés started to get full of life slowly. Lake Hévíz has been open since 9 May, so visitors can swim again in the 30°C lake under the blue sky. The first guests have already arrived in private accommodations. Four hotels will be open by the Whitsun weekend, however, reservations are accepted in every hotel. The hotels are very flexible regarding rescheduling the previously booked dates. During these two months everyone was busy with renovating and renewing so they could provide their guests a better environment than ever.  The safety precautions and hygiene restrictions are taken very seriously everywhere. Restaurants like Az Én Anyósom, Liget Restaurant, Vilmos Cellar and Római Cellar are already open and await guests both inside and on their terraces with keeping the necessary safety and hygiene restrictions.  The restaurant of Zala Springs is also ideal to have a good lunch after playing golf. The nearest is the ruins of Rezi Castle, located only 10 km away, which is an easy walk from Hévíz. ACTIVE ADVENTURES FOR ADRENALINE ADDICTS If you look for active experiences outdoors, and besides that, come to Hévíz with children, you do not have to go far for a little adventure. Children and adults can test their courage on the ropes course in the Tavirózsa Adventure Park located on the confines of Hévíz. Right next to it, the enthusiasts of racing can compete on a go-kart track. Due to the pandemic, the wellness section including the saunas and the gym remained closed, however, convenience is guaranteed in the delightful hotel atmosphere. This means that besides the young wine goose will also enrich the menu offerings this year.   Main ingredient: Aszófőer Welschriesling from the Fodorvin winery The title “Wine of the City of Hévíz 2021” went to the 2020 Aszófőer Welschriesling from the Fodorvin winery. The competition took place on July 7 in the restaurant of the Hotel Spa Hévíz with the participation of an expert jury. Our jury was not mistaking, since they truly got the best: the Aszófőer Welschriesling by Fodorvin was again selected as the winner of the Italian Riesling category at the Parliament's Wine Chest in October  2021 from among 218 wines. The family cellar of the Fodorvin winery was built in 1858 in Aszófő, in the Vörösmáli vineyard, where they currently manage 9 hectares as a family business. The reductively produced wine has a pronounced greenish-yellow color, and its aroma is dominated by citric and vegetable notes. The full taste is complemented by a pleasant acidity. It can currently also be purchased in the Hévíz Tourinform office with the label “Wine of the City of Hévíz 2021”.   Exceptional menus and courses In mid-November, the restaurants in Hévíz will prepare more than just special dishes with the winning wine. These delicacies in the Platán restaurant will include, for example, the foie gras ragout with forest mushrooms and Aszófőer Welschriesling on a crispy yeast plait, as well as the crispy leg of goose with sage and rosemary potatoes and apple slices braised in Hévíz city wine. In the NaturMed Hotel Carbona's buffet menu - which is not only open to hotel guests - you can try, for example, a sauerkraut soup with smoked meat, dill and Aszófőer Welschriesling. There will also be a goose stomach ragout with a creamy mushroom sauce, which has been perfumed with Aszófőer Welschriesling. Of course no animals will be harmed, but you can see the live demonstration of sausage stuffing, roasting beef, cabbage cooking, and you can taste them all as well. On 31 December, the program will begin in the tent set up in the Market Square from 1 pm. First, the little ones can party at the Magic Sounds playhouse, which is followed by a presentation of local products: tips and ideas directly from the producers. In the tent DJ Krezi's play from 9 pm in the to 2 pm but in the meanwhile surprise performances will be by Attila Hertelendy and Zsuzsanna Debrei at 10 pm, the Desperado band will arrive at 11 pm, and the Unique band will start at 12:30 am.   Korona Restaurant (Hévíz, Széchenyi str. 43.) The Korona Restaurant will be making a super New Year's theme this year as usual. The atmosphere of the Moulin Rouge will come alive for one night only for those who book a table here. lead: As of the government decree released on 11 November 2020, the following regulations are in order in Hévíz:

tartalom: + 1 Hévíz Lake is closed regular until further notice or government regulation. Medical attendance continues as normal in Saint Andrew Rheumatological Hospital. Accommodations can only accept guests arriving with business purposes. A curfew is in order from 8 pm until 5 am. Masks are not compulsory to wear in outside public places in Hévíz. Restaurants are closed from 11 November 2020 to 11 January 2021. Takeaways and house delivery are possible. The cinema, the library and the museums are closed. The adventure parks and the zoos are closed in the region. The events planned for November and Christmas Markets are canceled. Church services and masses are held, but only every second seat can be taken. Shops can be open only between 5 am and 9 pm. Services (hairdresser, manicure, massage etc.) can be open with keeping the curfew regulations. Personal administration is not available at the government office of Hévíz now. Administration businesses can be done via post or electronic ways. Personal administration is only allowed in such special cases that the law permits. The telephone number of the government office is: +36 83 500 800. The Tourinform Office of Hévíz is open as regular until 13 November. The office will be closed on weekends. From 16 November, personal service is only on Mondays and Fridays from 9 am to 5 pm, on these days bicycle rental is possible as well. tartalom: + 1 Kányavári Island The arched wooden bridge built from wooden beams in the 1980s has now become a symbol of Kis-Balaton. We can enjoy a wonderful view from the bridge. We can admire such special waterfowl as the great egret, gray heron, or the cormorant, which is less popular with fishermen. On the one-and-a-half kilometer long Búbosvöcsök nature trail, 15 signs present the fish, birds, and mammals of the Little Balaton. You can also fish on the island and you can spy the water and the Zalai hills from two lookouts. In cooler weather, a little indoor attraction is good The Kis-Balaton Visitor Center is an exhibition of the Balaton Upland National Park that has only been open for 2 years. It is an excellent choice for the whole family all year round. You can walk along an interactive nature trail on the building's green-roofed structure, which looks like wildlife crossings. From here you can clearly see the winter bird feeders and you can hear the "opening song" of the ever more active black tit. The building houses a gift shop and a restaurant, and children can enjoy fresh air on the playground in the courtyard, while parents refresh themselves with coffee. Part of the exhibition is the cinema, where during a half-hour film we can get to know the winter-summer, autumn-spring life of Kis-Balaton through soul-touching quotes selected from the novels of István Fekete Tüskevár and Téli berek, all in the understanding interpretation of Gábor Reviczky. In the interactive part of the exhibition, we can find out what invasive species are and why we don't like them. We will find out what the role of Little Balaton is in protecting the water quality of Lake Balaton, and we can even examine water samples ourselves. Those who want to see even more of this magical wildlife can take part in a guided canoe tour organized by the Balaton Upland National Park from early spring to late autumn. The winter canoeing season has also started on the Hévíz stream. Those who take part in this can row along the Hévíz stream and then the Gyöngyös stream, and get to know this unique wetland. The end point of the rowing tour is Diás Island, where the Matula hut, evoking the atmosphere of Tüskevár, stands. At the István Fekete Memorial next to the small wooden hut, you can also delve into the hidden wonders of Kis-Balaton during a very interesting exhibition. Our secret tip is the bird watch and fish ladder Several locations in Kis-Balaton, such as the aforementioned Diás island, can only be visited with a guide, but there are still quite a few romantic and protected areas that can be visited freely without a guide. Next to the Zala river, at the dam of Lake Hídvégi, you can find the Madárvártara, which was built by Zurich students from thousands of acacia logs without any nails or screws. Next to the parking lot, 100 meters away on the fish ladder, depending on the season, you can marvel at the cavalcade of fish. The fish ladder between the Zala River and Lake Hidvégi slows down the flow of water, so that fish can easily swim upstream.   Buffaloes and other types of animals In the Kápolnapuszta buffalo reserve, in addition to the black giants, the ground squirrels are the favorites of children and adults, who cutely graze on the grass grazed by the buffaloes. Anyone who did not know János Arany's poem Arany Lacinak would not even think that the poor groundhog was "cast". Even at the beginning of the 20th century, groundhogs were considered harmful and therefore water was poured into their passages. Other spectacular animals are the jumping goats and donkeys in the petting zoo. In the colonies dug into the loess wall, the gophers attract attention with their brightly colored feathers. But what about buffaloes? The Balaton Upland National Park started breeding water buffalo in the area purchased in 1992 for the purpose of gene conservation. The largest herd of buffaloes in the country can be found in the territory of the reserve, which lives in great peace with the gray cattle. During the winter, the animals spend most of their time in the barn near the entrance, where you can see the traditional animal husbandry in a cozy old photo next to the buffaloes. In case of good weather, the animals are in the pastures, which can be reached in the easiest way by a horse-drawn carriage ordered from the reception building. The giants are "buffalo-strong" and do not necessarily always approach people with friendly intentions, and driving through them in a horse-drawn carriage is a real "safari" feeling. A new feature of the reserve is the viewing platform, which was handed over on January 28, from which we can now also observe the animals from above. (GPS: 46.581816, 17.20314) Kis-Balaton House, cultural trip Next to Zalavár, next to the foundation walls of the former St. Adorján church and the Cyril and Methodius memorial column, you can enjoy photos of the wonders of Zala county in a very cool Millennium Memorial designed by Imre Makovecz. You can read the names of the county's settlements in the letters hanging from the top of the specially shaped dome. At the Kis-Balatonház exhibition, you can learn about the living world, and children can have fun on the playground. Next to the Kis-Balaton Ház, you can reach the Kányavári island on the asphalted bicycle path on the banks of the Zala river. tartalom: + 1 11-19 February Kissing benches in Hévíz Organized by the Hello Hévíz - Hévíz Entrepreneurs Association, cozy benches, bridges and gates awaited the romantic guests in Hévíz for the 3rd time in the middle of February. The "kissing benches" set up in many parts of the city not only put passers-by in a romantic mood, but those who submitted their photos could also participate in a nice game. 18 February Women's Carnival The vendors of the Hévíz Farmers' Market organized the first Women's Carnival in 2023 with the goal of creating tradition. At the cozy event, fun, fun and delicious carnival snacks played a leading role, much to the delight of the participants and market visitors.  7-10 April Easter fair Traditionally connected to the Easter festivities, the organizers welcome visitors to Hévíz with a craft fair, an egg hunt game, children's programs and atmospheric concerts. The programs expected during the four-day weekend: flea market, games, family movie afternoon at the Fontana Cinema, brass bands, early evening retro disco, wooden toy park. 29 April - 1 May Happy Peacetimes in Hévíz and City Day The 11th Happy Peace Times Hévíz costume parade will be organized on Saturday afternoon, 29 April. The crowd, dressed in period clothes, will start from the City Hall and walk down the park to Festetics Square, where the groups will finally present themselves on the Rákóczi Street stage. The parade is led by the Happy Dixieland Band and dancers again this year. After the spectacular parade, you can take photos together at selfie points in the city center. More concerts are expected in the evening, but even on Sunday, various bands will entertain the guests of Hévíz. 1 May is traditionally the day of the city, when the honorary titles of the city of Hévíz are awarded. Throughout the three-day long weekend, artisans, wineries and gastro stands await visitors in Rákóczi Street. On Sunday, you can even expect a cozy lakeside picnic. 14 May Running race After a 3-year break, young and old alike can re-enroll and support the Hévíz Running Festival. The running competition is organized by the Hévíz sports association for several distances and age groups. You can find the entry fees, distances and route on the event page, where the information is constantly updated. 19 May Moonlight bath on Lake Hévíz This year, the Hévíz Lake team organizes two late-night bathing sessions in Lake Hévíz, once in the spring and once in the fall. This year, for the first time in mid-May, you can enjoy the atmosphere of a really fast-paced concert while swimming in the warm water of the thermal lake. The evening will be opened by the best-known ABBA hits, followed by a retro disco. 28-29 May Pentecost Superhero program For the third time, the Hello Hévíz - Hévíz Entrepreneurs Association organizes the Pentecost superhero family program. Many challenges, multiple locations, funny and fun trials throughout the city. Thus, we await guests with family-friendly programs even during the long weekend of Pentecost. 23 June Midsummers Eve's program On the occasion of Midsummers Eve's programs are expected in Hévíz on June 23. What's more, if you feel like it, you can visit the handicraft exhibition yard on Saturday, where you can see up close how the masters make their works. 4-6 August Blanket festival (EKF2023 program/eco-festival in Egregy) The program takes place in Hévíz within the framework of the EKF 2023 Veszprém-Balaton event series. We warmly welcome everyone to a festival with a family atmosphere, where there will be interactive sessions and workshops during the day, and thematic programs in the evening. Among them are star-studded nature film screenings and unplugged concerts. Picnic atmosphere and eco-conscious performances, at an old-new venue in Hévíz. You can read updated information about the event here. 17-20 August Wine and Gastropromenade This year, the traditional wine and food festival in Hévíz at the end of August will not be missed. In Rákóczi Street, many local and invited wine houses, roast stalls and artisans will be selling their wares. It's noon on stagewe entertain the public visiting Hévíz with children's shows every afternoon and concerts in the evenings!   September TavirózsaFolkFest Negotiations are still ongoing regarding the autumn folk dance meeting, but we are confident that we will be able to watch the shows of many performers on the Rákóczi Street stage this year as well. September 15. Moonlight bath on Lake Hévíz The second lakeside party of the year, extending into the night, will take place in mid-September. Similar to previous occasions like this, there will be live music, a retro disco atmosphere, night bathing, delicious snacks and refreshing drinks in the Hévíz Tófürdő. 16-17 October Chestnut festival Organized by the Tavirózsa Adventure Park, you will be able to learn everything about the chestnut again this year. From the care of saplings to the processing of sweet and wild chestnuts, many interesting things will be revealed at the autumn event, which of course will not leave children and food lovers without a program. On New Year's Eve, a street party will of course await guests visiting Hévíz.
