The variety of bicycles you can rent at the Tourinform Office of Hévíz has been adjusted accordingly so everyone can enjoy cycling.   SIX MODERN E-BIKES CAN BE RENTED FOR 2 OR 24 HOURS Let it be the hills around Hévíz or the inclines within the city - with these new e-bikes it all becomes easy. Even longer bike tours can be made with the bikes, since the batteries have a range of 50-60 kilometers.   Prices:   Normal Trekking Bicycles: 2 hours: 1,500 HUF 24 hours: 3,000 HUF   E-bikes: 2 hours: 3,000 HUF 24 hours: 5,500 HUF     3 ROUTE SUGGESTIONS:   1. HÉVÍZ-KESZTHELY-GYENESDIÁS-VONYARCVASHEGY-BALATONGYÖRÖK From the Tourinform Office you can reach Keszthely after a 6-kilometer bike path between beautiful swamp cypresses, along Lake Hévíz. In Keszthely, you can get to the shores of Lake Balaton via the pedestrian zone and then along the residential area of ​​the city. The bike path runs along the bank, past the new apartment buildings. A short detour can be made at Libás Beach or at the small, atmospheric Lido Beach in Gyenesdiás, then you can continue towards Vonyarcvashegy. This is one of the most beautiful parts of the tour. A bike charging station is also located in the Tourinform Office in Vonyarcvashegy. The beautiful view of Balatongyörök was already known to the Romans, as evidenced by the finds found in the area. Distance: return trip: 36 km   2. RETURN BY SHIP, ENJOY THE LAKE! If you do not want to return from Balatongyörök by bicycles, you can continue your journey with a ship on Lake Balaton. In the summer, a ship to Keszthely leaves at 5.25 p.m. From Keszthely you can easily return to Hévíz by bike.     3. GUIDED BIKE TOUR WITH A LOCAL TOUR GUIDE In the city center of Hévíz, the e-bike is an ideal means of transport, and the whole city can be explored in just about 2 hours. During the bike tour, your guide will present the most famous buildings in the city: the lake, the Hévíz stream, Roman ruins and among other things the church from the so called Árpádian period. Registration is required in the Hévíz Tourinform Office  in order to participate.

lead: As of the government decree released on 11 November 2020, the following regulations are in order in Hévíz:

tartalom: + 1 Hévíz Lake is closed regular until further notice or government regulation. Medical attendance continues as normal in Saint Andrew Rheumatological Hospital. Accommodations can only accept guests arriving with business purposes. A curfew is in order from 8 pm until 5 am. Masks are not compulsory to wear in outside public places in Hévíz. Restaurants are closed from 11 November 2020 to 11 January 2021. Takeaways and house delivery are possible. The cinema, the library and the museums are closed. The adventure parks and the zoos are closed in the region. The events planned for November and Christmas Markets are canceled. Church services and masses are held, but only every second seat can be taken. Shops can be open only between 5 am and 9 pm. Services (hairdresser, manicure, massage etc.) can be open with keeping the curfew regulations. Personal administration is not available at the government office of Hévíz now. Administration businesses can be done via post or electronic ways. Personal administration is only allowed in such special cases that the law permits. The telephone number of the government office is: +36 83 500 800. The Tourinform Office of Hévíz is open as regular until 13 November. The office will be closed on weekends. From 16 November, personal service is only on Mondays and Fridays from 9 am to 5 pm, on these days bicycle rental is possible as well. The Balaton lake has been well known among countrymen since a long time. It is a good idea to plan your route more to the South and discover the West Balaton region. It is a perfect place for the family holidays, for the history lovers, the fans of water sports or the connoisseurs of the Hungarian cuisine.   Hungarian see The Balaton lake which is ca. 500 km far from the southern borders of Poland, is the biggest lake in Hungary and Central Europe. It is 77 km long and 4 to 15 km wide. The average depth is 2,5 m and the deepest point is 12 m deep a Tihany Well. In summer the temperature of the water oscillates between 22°C a 25°C. The Hungarians call the Balaton lake their sea and it is one of their favorite places for leisure.   Holidays at the West Balaton The West Balaton region is very reach in touristic attractions. There are many beaches and the depth of the lake is not more than 1,5 m for over a few hundred meters. The holidaymakers can rent the water bikes or go on a boat trip, where there are special animation programs for children. Kesthely, a university town with a beautiful palace of the Festetics family built in the middle of the 18th century, can be a good starting point. It is just 6 km far from a charming town of Hévíz, known for the biggest thermal lake in the world where you can swim all year long. Try to discover the secrets of the castles Szigligiet and Sümeg, and then take rest in the Buddhist stupa of peace. Do not forget to include in your itinerary the longest case in Hungary, Csodabogyós in Balatonederics. The city of Hévíz The spa resort Hévíz, with its emblematic thermal lake with unique healing properties, is a perfect place for leisure. The beautiful nature and idyllic atmosphere favor clearing your mind, and one of the biggest attractions is a bath in the turquoise water. Not only is the lake located in beautiful surroundings, but also the waters are rich in minerals, e.g. calcium, magnesium and Sulphur, which help to heal different diseases. There are peat and peloid on the bottom, which have a positive influence on the skin. It is worth mentioning that in May the bath of Hévíz was given a EuropeSpa Med certificate, which confirms the highest quality of service.   Those who visit Hévíz may take a walk in a charming town. In the collection there are medical and medicinal relics and also a book dated 1818, which was written by earl Richard Brighton and given to György Festetics, who was a contemporary owner of the lake.   Through the stomach to traveler’s heart A visit to Hungary is an exceptional culinary travel. It is hard to resist the local specialties, as well as hospitality, especially in the vineyards of Egregy. There are many taverns in the area between two street and in the summer you can hear vigorous Gypsy music. In the restaurants there are wine tastings and the landlords offer to the guests a glass of wine and csemege, a fresh house bread with lard, red paprika and onion. One of the most important regional dishes is dödölle, a kind of noodles made of potatoes and flour, fried in lard with onion. As far as the wines are concerned the most recognized vines in the area are Olaszrizling (Italian Riesling), Szürkebarát (Pinot Gris) and Rizlingszilváni (Müller Thurgau).

Kids can not only enjoy the water to the fullest, but there are also special animators programs offered and they can try water gymnastics, test their swimming ability or enjoy games with creative water crafts. Most hotels has own pool, that promise a great amount of fun. If you have chosen to live in a hotel without pool, in the apartment or in private, do not worry, for small fee you are welcomed to visit any pool anytime in a day. Children playgrounds for child of any age Are your children who can´t give up the experiences of a playground during a day? Hévíz has a very positive attitude towards the smallest and therefore has focused on renovation of playgrounds in the city over couple of last years. Hurray for bike or try Segway In case you have not decided to bring your own bikes to your holiday and your little sportsman demands to go cycling, do not panic. Hévíz has a high level service, therefore you can lend bikes for the whole family there. System of cycle tracks is well branched and would offer great experience to you as well as to your children. If any of you is too tired to bike, you may try Segway instead. Children older eight years are allowed to drive alone, otherwise for younger ones can be carried by the adults in a little trailer after the Segway. Family trips for history, animals or adventure You don’t need to be a professional athlete to handle walks around the city and in the surroundings. Touristic symbols and sign-posts will help you in the orientation.  There is a great amount of ruins in Hévíz surroundings for example Tátice, Szigliget or Sümeg, where you can personally find out and try the medieval history. Treasure of the area is chateau Festetics in town called Keszthely. A museum in the chateau has permanent hunting exposition, there is also the carriage museum or Animal Park. In the Keszthely city centre is puppet museum, historical panopticum as well as snail Parliament. Next to the road on the way to Keszthely is an Adventure Park, where kids are invited to enjoy several games.

From March, with the regular Merida and Neuzer brands new Alpina bicycles are introduced in our office. The new bikes are multi-geared which will definitely make cycling much easier for our guests! With the activation of your Hévíz Card+ tourist card, you can make your 2-hour-rental a 3-hour, and your 24-hour-rental a 28-hour rent. Furthermore, with every rental we provide our guests with info-materials as well as cycling maps. Acupuncture is successfully applied as a supplementary treatment for weight loss programs and dieting. By the stimulation of the acupuncture points located on the ears hunger and appetite can be decreased and digestion can be improved.  With the help of acupuncture several diseases can be cured, which cannot be treated by using Western medicine. It was not considered as a reliable treatment method for a long time, but by now it is widespread also in Western countries.  During acupuncture treatment patient is treated with a needle. Stimulation of the acupuncture points located on the body has an influence on the operation of our organs and organ systems. Needles play an important role in the opening of the blockages occurring in the meridians (channels: energy transportation system, which covers the entire body) as described in the acupressure part. The path of Qi (vital power) is opened with needles, by ensuring its circulation and the balancing of controversial energies (Jin and Jang).  In ancient times, when acupuncture was developed needles were made from bones, stones and bamboo. European physicians use flexible steel needles, instead of the traditional golden or silver needles. The length of acupuncture needles varies between 10 to 200 mm. But also permanent needles are used, which are taped after insertion and allowed to remain in the body for several days. There are approximately 400 acupuncture points on our body. During acupuncture treatment thin needles are inserted in various layers of the skin through the acupuncture points. For different diseases the combination of different points are used. Treatment duration varies – it also depends of the illness type. During one treatment multiple needles are inserted in the acupuncture points, and these needles are left in the skin depending on the pain level (starting from 15 minutes to 20 to 25 minutes). If necessary the needles are twisted and moved. Regularity is also very important during acupuncture therapy. In the case of a therapy with 10 to 12 treatments a weekly 1 to 2 treatments are recommended. Acupuncture is suitable for the mitigation of circulation disorders, elimination and mitigation of chronic pains, for the treatment of nervous-, digestive system diseases, respiratory system, dermatological, gynaecological and paediatrics disorders. The treatment does not have any side effects.

In the course of these two centuries the Traditional Hévíz Therapy has simply become a brand. In addition to bathing in medicinal water, the basic element of the Therapy are mud bath and weight bath. From vegetable are the most used tomatoes, peppers and potato. Typical spice is melted sweet or hot pepper, which gives food characteristics and enticing colour. The soured cream is also used often. The typical pastry is white bread. The food is made on the fat. The Hungary is the home of mangalica pigs whose fat is harmless. The tradition of wine in Egregy Wine-making on Egregy, which is part of the Hungarian small spa town Héviz, has a tradition which goes back to the Roman era when viticulture was introduced to the region. The most remarkable varieties of the region are Italian Riesling, a Pinot Gris and Müller Thurgau, but you can find there also Green veltliner) and different types of Muscat. Egregy hill was classified a high-quality wine region in 1998 and the wines produced here were classified as characteristic wines of the Balaton region. The aim of the treatment is to displace the vertebras, thus stretching the back bone and enabling the restoring of the original, healthy condition of the vertebral disks. Weight bath is completely painless, as the upthrust of the water relaxes the body and the weights stretch the spine in a very gentle way. Weights used during weight bath can be suspended in 3 ways: on one point (only on the neck) on two points (with armpit support) on three points (with neck and armpit support) The weights are placed on the waist and/or on the ankles, by usually applying weights of 2-3-5 kg. At one time a maximum of 20 kg weights are allowed.
