tartalom: The first international professional meeting of the project took place on 15 January 2025 in Hévíz, in NaturMed Hotel Carbona. The aim of the event was to strengthen the partnership and define a common framework for sustainable tourism development.   Sustainable tourism development based on the standards of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) was launched in Slovenia exactly a decade ago this year, and today 95% of all guest nights generated in the country are realized in destinations with international sustainability certification. In international recognition of the work accomplished, Jana Apih, Head of the Green Destinations Representation in Slovenia, was elected Executive Director of Green Destinations in November 2024. This is why it is outstanding that the preparatory programs implemented in the project are implemented jointly by the Slovenian and Hungarian Green Destinations representations. However, this is only one of the project elements of the complex destination development project, since the seven participating partners, Hévíz Tourism Non-profit Ltd., Pannon European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation, Murska Sobota Development Centre, Lendava Institute of Tourism and Development, Goodplace – Institute of Sustainable Tourism, Sárvár Tourist & TDM Non-profit Ltd. and Innotime Hungary Consulting and Service Ltd. have the primary objective of unified tourism in the Slovenian-Hungarian border region. Sustainability development, including the development of a local product program, the assessment of legal and professional obstacles to cross-border tourism product development and the mapping of their solutions, as well as the implementation of destination-level sustainability pilot projects will be carried out in the next nearly two years.   The project partners described in detail their role in the project and the tasks ahead. In the first panel, representatives of the destinations participating in the project, the staff of Hévíz Tourism Non-profit Ltd., Sárvár Tourist & TDM Nonprofit Kft., Murska Sobota Development Center and the Lendava Institute of Tourism and Development outlined their plans. The second panel gave the two Green Destinations representations and the Pannon European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation the opportunity to detail their objectives and plans, while the afternoon program presented how the project helps local entrepreneurs to obtain sustainability certifications and expand the tourism offer. The partners held the first partner meeting, during which they reviewed the reporting and communication requirements of the project, established the Steering Committee and set out the steps for the implementation of the project. Letter „B – F”   Balneotherapy This is a kind of treatment with medicinal water or so called thermal mineral water not classified as medicinal water yet. It comprises drinking cure with such waters, inhalation, mud treatment, carbonated baths and medicinal baths. Caldarium This is one of the facilities used in Roman baths, which means hot watery bathroom. The caldarium, usually tiled or covered with marble, in which people usually stay for 30 to 40 minutes, poses less burden on human organism than a sauna due to the lower temperatures (40-50 °C) and the humidity of the air (70-100%).   Chinese massage The Chinese massage may be considered as a kind of acupuncture combined with stretching. The massage may consist of various parts. It may refer to the spine massage and the Chinese head massage aiming at the head and neck. During the massage the acupuncture points are treated as well. The Chinese massage also includes the stretching of muscles or joints.   Cleopatra-bath Cleopatra, the Egyptian Queen did her best to fight ageism; she tried to make her skin soft and healthy by having a bath with donkey milk in it. The beauty care products named after her suggest having a bath with a mixture of milk and vegetable oil. These products are based on the conditioning and nourishing effects that milk and vegetable oils have on the skin.     Fango Mud pack from ground volcanic rock is applied to a certain part or the whole of the body. Fango is capable of holding heat for a long period, rich in minerals and free of organic substances. lead: The thermal lake in Hévíz is a unique one in the world. Its waters rich in mineral elements have medicinal properties, and the hot water source makes it possible to take bath all year long. A visit to Hévíz is not only a wonderful nature, but also priceless moments of relaxation.

tartalom: + 1 Not everybody knows this wonder of the nature. A lake in Hévíz is located just 200 km from Budapest. Is it worth driving by car or buying a cheap flight ticket to visit this place where time goes slowly, and the beauty of nature surprises at every step.   A miraculous lake The lake in Hévíz is the biggest biologically active thermal lake in the world in which you can swim. Its surface reaches 4,4 ha and the water temperature oscillates between 24°C in winter and 36°C in summer. These conditions are very favorable for all year long baths as well as for the cultivation of tropical water lilies. They make the reservoir look like the one from a fairy tale. The cleanness of the lake’s water is an asset. 410 liters of hot water stream from the underground source every second, so it is completely replenished every three days. However, the medicinal properties of the lake are its biggest advantage. They were recognized already by the Romans in the 2 century A.D. One of the legends says that Mother Mary wrung / created a spring in Hévíz by the appealing prayer of a Christian nurse for the health of the Roman emperor, Flavius Theodosius. There is a natural peat at the lake’s bed and the water is rich in mineral elements like calcium, magnesium, sulphur.   Idyllic scenery Hévíz is a charming health resort, inhabited by 5 000 citizens, located only 6 km from the Balaton lake. It is also one of the most beautifully flowered town in Hungary and in May 2016 it was given an Innovation Award in the category of the Innovative Spa and Health Resort Destination by the European Spas Association. Hévíz has been a well-known health resort for 220 years thanks to the biggest thermal lake in Europe. The number of Polish tourists visiting the city still grows and the standard of the lodging conditions are being constantly improved.   A unique leisure A visit in Hévíz does not need to be only for healing or preventive reasons. In spring and summer when the flowers blossom, the weather encourages for long walks. The lake is surrounded by the forest of exotic trees, where you can find evergreen bald cypresses. On the other hand the city is full of nice cafes and restaurants offering local specialties and exquisite wines. Except for the baths in the thermal lake and the traditional therapy, there is a wide offer of spa and wellness services based on the use of the lake’s water available at the high standard hotels. Due to the pandemic, the wellness section including the saunas and the gym remained closed, however, convenience is guaranteed in the delightful hotel atmosphere. The remarkable restaurant of the hotel and the bar as well waits for the business guests, what is more they can also enjoy the services provided by the Vitalium Health & Beauty & Laser health centrum. The hotel offers 2 business packages, one being the Business Basic package which can be booked from one night with breakfast. The other package is called the Exclusive Working Days which is an all-inclusive offer with drinks provided with your dinner. The Bobo Fun Park will be open for the guests of the hotel and for families who are not staying in the hotel as well. A Christmas tree, a Betlehem and an Advent Wreath is placed at the Festetics Square. A candle is lit on each Sunday on the Advent Wreath. The promenade will be filled with wooden houses, atmospheric music and enticing smells. A fair of handmade products and children programs will wait everyone at Moll Square. On the Farmers' Market there will be special gastronomy programs on each Saturday morning. On 30 December, a Pig Slaughter will be held at the Farmer's Market of Hévíz. On the 31 December a New Year's Eve party will be taken place in the tent with concerts and street festival.     Holiday concerts and the best performers at the hotels of Hévíz If you decide to stay one of the hotels in Hévíz during the holiday season, many program wil guarantee your entertainment. During the day, you may enjoy the relaxing wellness sections of the hotels, while in the evening the finest dishes and the best performers will make sure you enjoy your stay. In NaturMed Hotel Carbona, guests can enjoy the piano play on each weekend of  the Advent. From 24 December each new day will bring about a new program as well: goulash party, Dynamic Band in the ball room, ham and champagne tasting, sauna seances and gingerbread decorating will await the guests. Éva Csepregi, Viki Singh, Bálint Gájer, the Bon-Bon band and a samba show will entertain guests in the holiday season.     The team of Hotel Európa fit also made sure that hotel guests would have the best time during there stay during the holidays. The Korona Restaurant makes a thematic New Year's Eve party each year. tartalom: + 1 On 30 December, you will be able to take part in an authentic pork slaughter from 10 am to 4 pm at the Hévíz Farmers' Market. Of course no animals will be harmed, but you can see the live demonstration of sausage stuffing, roasting beef, cabbage cooking, and you can taste them all as well. On 31 December, the program will begin in the tent set up in the Market Square from 1 pm. First, the little ones can party at the Magic Sounds playhouse, which is followed by a presentation of local products: tips and ideas directly from the producers. From 12 March to 14 March, you will find many interesting programs that let’s us start spring and the season in the city. On 12 March don’t miss the concert of the band Re-Folk. On Sunday, Bernadett Gregor and Attila Csengeri will welcome the audience with their show “Jöjj kedvesem...” (“Come my Love…”). The concerts will take place in the Ball Room of the City Hall, attendance is free of charge, however, pre-registration is necessary. On 14 March we will celebrate our national holiday with a torchlight procession.   EASTER WILL BE FULL OF SURPRISES  We hope April will bring us a typical nice spring weather for our Easter Fair. From 15 April to 18 April the pedestrian street will be full of life and programs. In addition to the stands with wine and crafts, there will be interesting things for all age groups. Bouncy castles, folk games, egg hunts, activities for the little ones, mystical light shows and concerts for the grown-ups. The Zsödi Duó and Lia Siklódi Szabó and the party band HelloKids will ensure the good atmosphere.    AN OLD FAVOURITE WILL COME BACK  We have been waiting for this for a long time and this year we can finally host our traditional program “The Happy Peacetimes of Hévíz” from 30 April to 1 May. This year our dear program will be held for the tenth time. Of course our traditional parade will take place with vintage cars and classic carriages. Photo booths, games, delicious food and drinks stands will be all around the streets filled with Dixie music to ensure the atmosphere. The real highlight, however, will be the concert by the Mystery Gang. As part of the celebrations on May 1st, we will commemorate the proclamation of Hévíz as a city.    EVEN JULY WILL NOT BE BORING  For beer lovers, we recommend our event in July: from 14 July to 17 July, the pedestrian zone will be filled with famous and handcrafted beers. In addition to the drink, of course, the individual snacks that go with the respective beer should not be missing. After some drinks and some food, head towards the stage on Rákóczi Street, where concerts will heat up the atmosphere. More details about the program will be revealed soon, keep an eye out.    AUGUST IS ALL ABOUT WINE  For the summer heat, our crowd favourite Wine and Gastro Promenade will return too. For the program we await lovers of wine and everyone who would like to feel how a big festival feels like in Hévíz. In addition to tasting the most delicious wines, there will be many concerts and programs for children as well. Details to come soon!   We've only mentioned the biggest names and festivals, but of course there will be other concerts and parties throughout the year. lead: Nobody likes rainy weather during the holidays, but that doesn't mean you should lock yourself in your hotel room. Even though you cannot sunbathe or enjoy the sun during a rainy day, we have collected what you can do when it rains.

tartalom: + 1 Beach with an umbrella?! Yes! Swimming in Hévíz is an experience even when it rains or the weather is cooler! The temperature of Lake Hévíz is about 35-36 °C in summer even with rain and wind. If the rain bothers you, you can also relax in the warm water in the building above the lake. Water lilies open up when it rains, and when the air temperature is cooler than the water temperature, one may even be surprised, since the warm water lake is usually steaming!     Summer is not just about the beaches! At the western end of Lake Balaton, there is a lot to do in rainy or cloudy weather as well. 5 program tips around Hévíz in rainy weather: The Farmers' Market of Hévíz can be visited three times a week, on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, where you can buy delicacies and handmade trinkets. The Bobo Fun Park is open when it rains as well! The largest adrenaline arena on Lake Balaton and in Hungary was opened just a year ago, and the indoor facility is open for everyone! For adults, the park is full of relaxation and excitement, as it offers a lot of sporting, active recreation in a huge square while for children the park offers curious adventures.     The exhibitions of Helikon Castle have so many exhibitions that one day is not enough to see everything. Why not visit the Festetics Castle on a rainy day? You even have the possibility to visit the several exhibitions with a two-day combined ticket, such as the Noble forms of life, the carriage museum, the railway model and hunting exhibition, or the palm house. In the Castle Museum, many exhibitions have been renewed in recent years, so it's worth taking a look. What's more, each day a themed program awaits the guests as well like guided tours in the castle park, guided tours in the castle from the cellars to the attic and so on.     The Imre Festetics Experience Center awaits everyone! The House of Nature and Animal Park is located at the border of Gyenesdiás, only 10 minutes from Hévíz. With interactive exhibition and many local animals the park is fun for the whole family!     Just around the corner Don't miss the following programs if you are looking for nice activities to do when it's cloudy! The Sümeg Castle Games offer an exciting program for everyone. Throughout the summer you can enjoy the thrill of the knight's tournament every Wednesday and Saturday and you can even take part in a medieval dinner afterwards. The program is perfect in any weather, because when it rains there is a huge knight's hall at the foot of the castle hill, just below the restaurant.      If you would like to do something that brings you closer to nature, taking on a boat trip in the Cave Lake of Tapolca is the perfect program for you! During the summer months, there are always many people at the Visitor Center of the Balaton Upland National Park in Tapolca, where you can get acquainted with the earth's caves in a 3D exhibition and then experience rowing in the crystal clear waters of the cave. In the permanent exhibition of the Balaton Museum you can get acquainted with the past and the present of Lake Balaton. Even though it's a little unplesant to bathe in Lake Balaton when it rains, if there is no wind you can still go on a hip cruise. In the summer months, 1-hour cruises set off from the port of Keszthely.   Hike and enjoy the thousand wonders of nature! Trips on foot and by bike in the area might be a good program to consider. In the Keszthely Mountains you can choose from easy  to extreme hiking trails. We offer special hiking routes on our premises and you can rent children's and adult bicycles, e-bikes and e-scooters at the Tourinform Office of Hévíz. The Kányavári Island and Buffalo Reserve at Kis-Balaton are also charming despite of the rain. On the 2.5 km-long nature trail you can admire the water spiders or the great egret up close. You can take part in a Hungarian "safari" program in the buffalo reserve.     You can also get to know native Hungarian animal species in the Africa Museum in Balatonederics, or at the Salföld Ranch in the Balaton Upland National Park. You can also test your stamina in the adventure parks of the area, such as Tavirózsa Adventure Park in Hévíz or the much larger Zobori Adventure Park in Zalaszabar. But you can also walk through dinosaurs in the Dinosaur Park in Rezi.   And last but not least, roam the volcanic sites of the Keszthely Mountains and Lake Balaton! Enjoy the beauty of the hiking trails, the unique panorama of Lake Balaton, visit the castle ruins (Szigliget, Rezi, Tátika, Csobánc) or the basalt organs, because the hilly landscape around awaits hikers every day. The aim of the project in Hévíz is to assess the city's hottest spots and develop solutions for their effective cooling or elimination. Efforts must be made to ensure that, within the framework of the 2-year program, there are immediate solutions, unique model projects and long-term strategic proposals at the local level as well. The BeReady project consists of 5 phases, of which the III. stage preparation is underway in Hévíz. In Phase I, the research institutes assessed the general characteristics of the heat islands and are working on methods to map them. The II. the partners got to know the methods. The current III. with the involvement of the localities, locally affected partners, professional organizations, experts and the population, they will assess their own heat islands based on the methodology and their risk in order to be able to formulate proposals to prevent the formation of heat islands or eliminate existing ones. This will be followed by IV. phase, in which specific tasks and pilot projects must be implemented to reduce heat islands, the results of which will have to be reported and the results published in phase V. Experts from public institutions, scientific institutions, civil organizations and businesses came together to learn about the risks of urban heat islands and to actively participate in the further activities of the project, the elimination of heat islands on the 6th November 2024 for a local workshop. The crowd of 18 guests got familar with the whole project, and started to learn the about the metodology which will used to measure and collect the local datas to provide the UHI vulnerability of Hévíz.   [galeria]
