A Savignon Blanc from 2021 was titled Wine of the City this year, which you can taste at the stand of the winery as well. The winery has 100 hectares of vineyards and was built in 2006 in Nagyrada, not too far from Kis-Balaton. Previously, several lands were purchased in the area and several red wine grapes were planted alongside the white varieties. Until the winery was built, there were many varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sírah, Pinot Noir, Malbec Cabernet Franc. The winery belongs to the Zala wine region, and it is the largest plant in the Zala region with its 2,500 m2 land. During the four days of the festival, you can meet blue-painted porters, handmade dolls, basket sellers, textile sellers, jewelry makers, ceramicists, but you may also buy goat cheese, smoked goods, homemade syrup, and handmade mustard. In addition to the vendors, there will be wine and food stalls waiting for the guests. This year we are preparing 30 types of "lángos", vegetable pies, vegan offerings, but of course also traditional wine-biscuits. In fact, fish soup is also included in the food offer, but only for 20 August. Among the domestic wineries, the following cellars will be presenting: Paulus Borház, Cseri Winery, Balla Géza Winery, Kányavári Winery, Mokos Winery, Prosecco, -Balatonfelvidék -Fischer Winery, Tokaj wine region- Majoros Estate, Decsics Winery, Strázsai Winery, Rádi Winery, Papp és Fiai Winery , Bezerics Winery And of course, the title holder of this year's Wine of Hévíz is the CÉZÁR Winery, where you can also taste the wine of 2022. The special program as part of the Forest Mystery program series introduces visitors to the mysterious world of the forest surrounding the lake. The music bonanza starts on the stage from 18:00, where you can first hear the party mix of DJ Belo, then the acoustic-electronic performance of Levente Fegyverneki leads the mood to DJ Voksán Virág's evening set. During the day on Friday the field belongs to the children again, this time the team of Virgonckodók brings two escape rooms to the "green" on Dr. Moll Károly tér. It is worth registering in advance, because the appointments fill up quickly. Children looking for a creative activity will not be left without a program either, as the Magic Sounds playhouse at the Tourinform office will keep them busy. The game is accompanied by music, from 18:00 the Cséplő-Poór Jazzy Duo entertains the audience with cheerful tunes. On Saturday a bubble arcade and a wooden toy park await children who want to play already in the early afternoon. This time, there is also a stage show for the little ones, as the Harisnáy Pipik invite them on a magical journey around the world. tartalom: + 1 This year's event will take place immediately after St. Martin's Day, on the weekend from November 12th to 14th. This means that besides the young wine goose will also enrich the menu offerings this year.   Main ingredient: Aszófőer Welschriesling from the Fodorvin winery The title “Wine of the City of Hévíz 2021” went to the 2020 Aszófőer Welschriesling from the Fodorvin winery. The competition took place on July 7 in the restaurant of the Hotel Spa Hévíz with the participation of an expert jury. Our jury was not mistaking, since they truly got the best: the Aszófőer Welschriesling by Fodorvin was again selected as the winner of the Italian Riesling category at the Parliament's Wine Chest in October  2021 from among 218 wines. The family cellar of the Fodorvin winery was built in 1858 in Aszófő, in the Vörösmáli vineyard, where they currently manage 9 hectares as a family business. The reductively produced wine has a pronounced greenish-yellow color, and its aroma is dominated by citric and vegetable notes. The full taste is complemented by a pleasant acidity. It can currently also be purchased in the Hévíz Tourinform office with the label “Wine of the City of Hévíz 2021”.   Exceptional menus and courses In mid-November, the restaurants in Hévíz will prepare more than just special dishes with the winning wine. These delicacies in the Platán restaurant will include, for example, the foie gras ragout with forest mushrooms and Aszófőer Welschriesling on a crispy yeast plait, as well as the crispy leg of goose with sage and rosemary potatoes and apple slices braised in Hévíz city wine. In the NaturMed Hotel Carbona's buffet menu - which is not only open to hotel guests - you can try, for example, a sauerkraut soup with smoked meat, dill and Aszófőer Welschriesling. There will also be a goose stomach ragout with a creamy mushroom sauce, which has been perfumed with Aszófőer Welschriesling. On the afternoon begins the masquerade parade, the burning of a straw figure to drive the cold and you can buy from the famous carnival doughnut.      19th-22nd April | Easter Fair of Handmade Goods The season starts with diverse programs in which you can get to how a typical Hungarian Easter is celebrated. Each day of the Easter Festival the visitors awaitwith fairs, playhouses and traditional food, of course.       1st-5th May | Hévíz at the Turn of the Century The event, which was started in 2011, evokes the ‘golden years’ of Hévíz, a period that lasted from the 1860s to the 1930s. The town tries to recall the atmosphere of the palmy days of peace in every possible way during the event: organ-grinders wearing tails and top hat play music in the streets, ladies dressed in hoop skirt and hat walk in the flowering park leading to the thermal lake. The event will be opened by a costume parade accompanied with live music and dance, in the course of which the professions and trades of the period will be presented.   11st May | Flavius Day In Egregy (a district of Hévíz) next to the remains of the Roman villa, in a beautiful landscaped area, we recall the traditions of Roman times: gladiator fights, toga parades, ancient oracles, the fashion and hairstyle, as well as ancient board games. You can have a taste from the dishes and drinks of the period.     19th May | 4th Running Festival of Hévíz The runners who manage to run 4-14-21 km will not only get to experience a well-organised event but they also will be gifted T-Shirts, medals and an unforgettable experience! The half marathon can be done individually or in a relay.       5th-8th June | Pentecostal Merriment and Fair During the four-day Pentecostal celebrations, we await the visitors of Hévíz with joyful programmes and activities. The parish feast is held in her honour on Mary Magdalene’s Day every year. Real festive atmosphere with arts and crafts fair, carousel, shooting gallery and excellent culinary offers are provided for the visitors.     3rd-4th August | Nostalgia Weekend At the nostalgia weekend, the centre of Hévíz will be filled with chamber ensembles, pianists recalling the atmosphere of old cafés, while couples are dancing the waltz all around. tartalom: + 1 Traditonal hungraian cuisine, local wines, beautyful panorama… In Egregy you can enjoy every night! The Egregy part of Hévíz town is famous for its gastronomic delicacies. From downtown you can access the wine cellars in 25 minutes on foot. On your way you will we pass Jesus’ Heart Church (Jézus szíve templom) at the end of Zrínyi Street or you can visit the Roman excavation site at the end of Attila Street.     In the evenings the wine cellars and restaurants built in between the rows of vines are magnets for the guests of the town. This is a great place for the guests - exhausted after bathing – to charge up with a nice dinner or enjoy a wine tasting event while listening to live music. Restaurants offer not only traditional Hungarian specialties, but also international dishes on their open air terraces or in the cosy wine cellars. If you carry on down Dombföldi Street among the wine cellars, you can reach the Arpadian Age Church, which is one the most beautiful built cultural heritage of Hévíz.   From April to October you can reach it with the Dottó sightseeing train, or by car to Egregyi Street.
