tartalom: + 1 What will happen in these four days? Let's see! During the four days of the festival, you can meet blue-painted porters, handmade dolls, basket sellers, textile sellers, jewelry makers, ceramicists, but you may also buy goat cheese, smoked goods, homemade syrup, and handmade mustard. In addition to the vendors, there will be wine and food stalls waiting for the guests. This year we are preparing 30 types of "lángos", vegetable pies, vegan offerings, but of course also traditional wine-biscuits. In fact, fish soup is also included in the food offer, but only for 20 August. Among the domestic wineries, the following cellars will be presenting: Paulus Borház, Cseri Winery, Balla Géza Winery, Kányavári Winery, Mokos Winery, Prosecco, -Balatonfelvidék -Fischer Winery, Tokaj wine region- Majoros Estate, Decsics Winery, Strázsai Winery, Rádi Winery, Papp és Fiai Winery , Bezerics Winery And of course, the title holder of this year's Wine of Hévíz is the CÉZÁR Winery, where you can also taste the wine of 2022. On Thursday the Virgonckodók team will start the program to the delight of our youngest guests. On that day, wooden toys and a basket swing are waiting for children. And of course we won't leave them without music, in the afternoon they can party at the Brumi Bandi Band concert at the Tourinform Office. The day doesn't end with children's programs. The Forest next to Deák Square will be the venue for the Amargant Theater Concert three times in the afternoon. The special program as part of the Forest Mystery program series introduces visitors to the mysterious world of the forest surrounding the lake. The music bonanza starts on the stage from 18:00, where you can first hear the party mix of DJ Belo, then the acoustic-electronic performance of Levente Fegyverneki leads the mood to DJ Voksán Virág's evening set. During the day on Friday the field belongs to the children again, this time the team of Virgonckodók brings two escape rooms to the "green" on Dr. Moll Károly tér. It is worth registering in advance, because the appointments fill up quickly. Children looking for a creative activity will not be left without a program either, as the Magic Sounds playhouse at the Tourinform office will keep them busy. The game is accompanied by music, from 18:00 the Cséplő-Poór Jazzy Duo entertains the audience with cheerful tunes. At the same time, the evening program begins on the stage, a Caribbean dance hall called Salsa Días Brillantes begins. After the dance, we can listen to a show by Boglárka Laczák and Szabolcs Bognár interspersed with musical and operetta melodies. In the evening, we can welcome the weekend with a wild concert by Odett, a singer from Zala. On Saturday a bubble arcade and a wooden toy park await children who want to play already in the early afternoon. This time, there is also a stage show for the little ones, as the Harisnáy Pipik invite them on a magical journey around the world. Afterwards, Jenő Őri & Iván Roman entertain the audience with violin and piano recitals. If it's a wine program, then MASZK's musical theater about wine fits into the evening stylistically. The main event of the evening will be the concert of the Muzsikás Együttes. On Sunday we can rest during the day for the past three days, and then in the evening we can say goodbye to the holiday weekend at the M.É.Z. With its Irish dance ensemble show and the Jag Projekt party. Good atmosphere and good music are guaranteed, you won't get bored with us! Come and celebrate with us! Detailed programs here.

tartalom: + 1 As the cold weather has set in, we feel the winter more and more at our doorstep. Although there is no snow, the frost greets the beams of the rising sun more often. November is the month when we have a little time left to victual for chilly days. As the weather and the seasons change, so vary the sellers’ goods at Hévíz Market. Besides the usual wares - handmade goods, cheese, bakery products, meat, autumn fruit and vegetables - there are also cakes, decorations, food and drinks displayed, which spread the advent and Christmas atmosphere. The sweet smell of roasted chestnut, pumpkin or hot mulled wine and chimney cake fill the air. According to traditions new wine can be drunk after Saint Martin’s Day, so the nectar of this year’s harvest can be found also in the offer of the vineries selling at the market.     It is a part of the advent preparation that we set up our surroundings with decorations and soft lights. Sweet smelling candles, lampions, advent wreaths, decorations with angels and bells can’t be missing from the stands of the stall-keepers – of course all the goods are made of the sellers’ own material and by hand. Gingerbread, chimney cake, “bejgli” (poppy seed or walnut roll)… - are the essential cakes of advent and the Christmas feeling.   Walking among the craftsmen, antique dealers, wood-carvers, potters, textile sellers you might also find the perfect Christmas gift. You can choose from the offer of more than 300 sellers even in wintertime. Even the cold weather cannot frighten away the producers and the costumers. The market is very lively and busy even on cold days. From December you cannot only find the local sellers at the market, but also the ice-rink opens in its neighbourhood, so you can even combine the shopping with ice-skating or vice versa.   Visit the Farmers’ Market in Hévíz!   Opening hours: 1st November 2012 - 30th November 2012 Tuesday and Saturday from 7.30 am to 12.00 am Thursday from 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm   1st December 2012 – 31st December 2012 Tuesday from 7.00 am to 1.00 pm Thursday and Friday from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm Saturday from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm   1st January 2013 – 31st March 2013 Thursday from 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm Saturday from 7.00 am to 1.00 pm

The disches are various, and associated with the healthy lifestyle, because they are rich in vegetables.   Try them!     Roasted chicken breast fillet flambéed with white wine, vegetables and flavoury wild mushrooms Rabbit ragout made with tasty wild mushrooms and a pinch of chili served with vegetable rösti Venison wrapped with porcini mushroom and duck leg with ‘Esküvé’ sauce Blue catfish steak with algae tagliatelle and parmesan crisps Veal ragout with cream and vegetables and dödölle of Zala Catfish fillet of Lake Balaton, wild mushroom ragout with spinach and garlic, rösti with cabbage ‘Saltimbocco’ Duck pate with duck liver and wine gelee

lead: On friday with the assistance of Santa Claus the most beautiful shop window awards were handed out.
tartalom: + 1 On the occasion of Advent more and more Christmas lights go up also this year in Hévíz. In addition to the festive decorations of public places, service providers also await the visiting guests with more and more beautiful shop windows and decorated houses. The eye-catching Christmas lights, the decorations, which are sometimes traditional, sometimes  romantic and lovely  or in many cases made of using natural materials, the Christmas tree of the town and the Advent wreath together create the Christmas atmosphere of Hévíz.  This Advent, the Hévíz TDM Association also announced a Christmas decoration contest titled „A brilliant idea!”, for which anyone could enter, who felt that he/she offered customers a really gorgeus christmas window display.   The jury took a walk around the town in the afternoon of 4th December in order to rate the shop windows, and announced its rating points in several categories, such as elegance, harmonic appearence, style, use of natural materials, surprising, funny or fabulous ideas. The general public could vote for the service provider who would won the Audience Award based on the pictures shared by the participants on the website www.facebook.com/heviz.info. Awards were given out in a total of 4 categories.  I. Business premises, catering establishments: First prize: Hofbrau Vendéglő (Restaurant) (931/9 Nagyparkoló Square) Second prize: Magyar Csárda(Restaurant) (2 Tavirózsa Street) and Street Fashion clothes shop (2 Széchenyi Street)   II. Private accommodation: First prize: Guszti Villa (18 Széchenyi Street) Second prize: Fortuna Villa (1 Fortuna Street) and Kaktusz Villa (116 Attila Street)   III. Hotel category: First prize: Kolping Hotel **** Spa & Family Resort (120 Fő Street, Alsópáhok) Second prize: Lotus Therme Hotel & Spa***** (1 Lótuszvirág Street)  and NaturMed Hotel Carbona ****superior (1 Attila Street)   Audience Award winner based on the audience's  votes: Lotus Therme Hotel & Spa***** (1 Lótuszvirág Street)   The prizes were made by a local ceramic artist Barakonyi István, and we hope that they will be nice decorations of every winning shop window and building.   The jury chose the Hofbrau Restaurant as the absolute winner of the competition based on the total scores and the overall look. Therefore, besides the first prize the manager of the restaurant Czigány Hedvig  could also receive a challenge cup, for which there hopefully will be a lot of applicants next year.   We would recommend that our guests explore all the small beauties of the town, find the most atmospheric store, restaurant or accommodation, try the ice rink re-opened on 5th December after the bathings in the pleasantly warm water of the lake, visit the arts and crafts Advent market and warm up your heart by tasting a pleasantly scenting punch, tea or mulled wine under the twinkling festive lights.    We wish you a merry Christmas!

tartalom: + 1 The 7th SPA-CE, the first and only spa and wellness trade show for Central Europe, will be held from 1 to 3 October 2015 in Hévíz, Hungary. Around 30 spa and wellness providers from Central Europe will meet with more than 40 cherry-picked hosted buyers to find new business connections, learn and enjoy the warm Hungarian hospitality. As one of the oldest European countries, Hungary combines rich cultural experience with top-notch medical, health and wellness offer. Hévíz with the fresh colours of nature and the relaxing atmosphere is an ideal place for this boutique B2B event dedicated to spa and wellness tourism. Iztok Altbauer, Director of Slovenian Spa Association and SPA-CE organizer looks forward to another great collaboration with the Hungarian team: “After the 5th edition was held in Sárvár, SPA-CE is going international again. We are really honestly happy that the world famous lake resort Hévíz in Hungary agreed to be the host of this year’s meeting of the spa industry of Central Europe.” Orsolya Horváth, Managing director at Hévízi Turisztikai Nonprofit Kft and official host of this year’s trade show welcomes exhibitors and buyers to Hévíz: “»Nomen est Omen«, your name is your value, as the Romans thought. The name of the town means hot water, which in itself shows what is going on here. The world’s largest natural thermal lake that is suitable for swimming can be found here. A better reason is not needed to hold the event SPA-CE. Every participant can expect that we, as hosts, will make every effort to serve hosted buyers and exhibitors on the highest level.” Over the years SPA-CE has become the European junction for all professionals working in the spa and wellness tourism. Iztok Altbauer explains: “Just looking around us, the Central European region has the strongest focus on the spa industry in a concentrated area so great opportunities are waiting for us. We are happy to say SPA-CE is strengthening its position on this market every year. Since its beginnings, the show has hosted more than 160 providers of spa and wellness services and hosted buyers on average more than 15 countries from Europe. Also the number of B2B meetings is really impressive as it has surpassed 3.300. Another important fact is also that we are able to attract more and more new potential partners. Just last year, when the Slovenian traditional Spa town Radenci was the host of the SPA-CE workshop, there were more than 90 % of newcomers.” The boutique trade-show will again offer a one-of-a-kind experience. Next to business where the focus will be on pre-scheduled meetings between providers and hosted buyers, SPA-CE will offer a great educational programme and fam trip for hosted buyers. Registrations for exhibitors and hosted buyers are already open. Different exhibitor packages are available for spa and wellness providers at an Early Bird price till 31 May 2015. “We are welcoming all in Hévíz in the beginning of October where the European Spa business will meet for the first time. And we are sure you would not want to miss the opportunity to be a part of it,” said Iztok Altbauer. To find out more about SPA-CE please visit www.spa-ce.si or write to info@spa-ce.si.

tartalom: + 1 While I’m still catching my breath, my soul has already arrived. Janett and I run across the wooden bridge from the parking lot, trying to catch the last bit of an immensely beautiful sunset. The flaring red, and rather huge disk of the sun, is just dipping beyond the horizon to the West. A feeling of stillness floods through us, much like the little waves gently lapping against the lake shore in front of us. I take a look at Janett. My dear friend is just the same: After both of us have taken the last photographs, there is nothing left but to enjoy the peace of the moment. … Talking about Hévíz is like talking about the mighty stage of nature that surrounds it. A place where the water buffalo roams. Where the famous, nearby Balaton lake has closed for winter, pulling another lake centre stage: The steaming hot lake of Hévíz. Yes, steam rises as we approach the spa town of Hévíz. “So where exactly are you headed to in Hungary?”, my friend Gaby asks me ahead of my trip. “Oh, Hévíz”, she sighs, visibly pleased: “What a beautiful spot. Ursula and I have been there many times … You will like it for sure!” Travelling to Hévíz from Vienna, about a three hour trip southeast of the Austrian capital all the way into Western Hungary, already exudes a feeling of relaxation. There are no fast lanes or highways in this part of the country, so all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the landscape around you. “You are lucky”, our German driver Volker smiles: “I go to Hévíz at least once a year. So glad we all decided to go on the same dates!” Janett and I have found Volker through a rideshare platform called “BlaBlaCars”, popular in Germany as a perfect alternative to trains, buses or taking your own car. Nice. Hévíz, then. As we arrive by the lake, the setting sun paints the rising pearls of steam with the last bits of colours for the day. “But what the … is this!?”, I gasp, suddenly torn from my slumber in the backseat of Volker’s car. In front of me, dozens of people are swimming in a natural lake obviously pleasant to bath in, despite the outside temperature being close to zero degrees. Mother Nature herself provides the energy for heating the healing sulphur waters. Quite the story: Lake Hévíz, a pleasant 26°C warm, is filled with healing source waters that lie buried about 900 metres below the Earth’s surface  … … framed by flaring fall colours such as these trees, an image that has me travel right back to the beautiful “Indian Summer” in Canada ..! Hévíz is a spa town rich in tradition … … their healing mineral and sulphur waters used throughout various spa & health institutions, and wellness hotels such as the prestigious NaturMed Hotel Carbona here … … a hotel that also offers exciting treatments such as the “Cryo-Sauna”: Janett volunteers to being exposed to -170°C for a very short time, said to stimulate your circulation and give you a boost of energy! Janett … We are waiting for your verdict on your travel blog! That day, I decide to keep my clothes on and only pose for a funny photograph in front of Lake Hévíz! Hévíz, what a discovery. In my memory, I can still feel the healing waters giving my entire skin a healthy, nutritious hug … … every evening, Janett and I are off for an hour or two of spa-stillness at the Kolping family hotel in Hévíz, perfect for both the kids and families as well as the odd “tired-crashing travel blogger” looking to unwind. The entire accommodation area is made up of single bungalows with reed roofs, adding to a familiar feeling of comfort from across the border, in the Austrian Burgenland province. And everyone out here speaks German! For a multi linguist like myself, it is almost a shame I speak no Hungarian whatsoever in return, but hey: Hospitality, appreciation of nature, and the good food & drinks we find here with our new Hungarian friends also speak a language of their own. Check this out. Talking about similarities between Western Hungary and Eastern Austria, one cannot fail to notice the food: Paprika goulash time it is – an all-time favourite on both sides of the border … … where the surrounding park beckons for a stroll (or a sit) … … modern holiday bungalows await … … as well as a chance to dive into the area’s hot mineral water pools each night. Around Hévíz, you will find prairie buffalos next to imperial castles and bustling farmers’ markets. Quite the Hungarian heritage & charm! I love visiting (farmers’) markets. All around the world, they always teach you about an important aspect of the local cultural history. What do people eat? What do they sell? Which “language do they speak”? How is the atmosphere? What is being offered? Who strikes up a bargain? And how? Janett and I decide to take on a feast of rather delicious “Kürtöskálacs”; a kind of sugar-bread-roll that goes perfectly with two glasses of hot, mulled wine. Beautiful second breakfast at Hévíz market. Just a little later, our local insider Krisztina drives us over into neighbouring Keszthely, famous for its imperial palace as well as being right by the shore line of Lake Balaton. Both places are worth returning to in the spring or summer, as we imagine all the green spaces full of flowers, happy vacationists in T-Shirts and us in summer dresses ..! At the same time, it is rather nice walking around without the crowds now .. The following is a list of travel tips on where to go once you are here: Hévíz market: Definitely worth your while … … where we recommend you to try delicious Hungarian sweet bread, and hot wine if you wish. Just about a twenty minutes drive and you will find yourself in front of Lake Balaton, Western Hungary’s famous steppe lake … … the advantage being only few visitors during low season … … same here at Keszthely Palace … … which we are able to visit almost exclusively on our own. Do visit the palace library: A magical spot filled with old books some of which are many centuries old ..! And if you, like us that day, wish to freshen up a little … … consider heading to Télikert Restaurant: Great food, friendly staff & a generous, urban flair here at Lake Balaton. If pure nature is what you prefer … … nature, horses, and romance … … then go visit the local buffalo farm, where you can learn a thing or two about the noble prairie dwellers and appreciate the local landscape around you! Thank you so much, my dear Janett, for helping to organise our #BloggerWellness days in Hévíz ! Hévíz & around : We’ll be back one day for sure! lead: The main entrance of the Lake Bath located in the Dr Schulhof Vilmos Promenade closes on the 4th November and it is expected to stay closed until June 2020.
tartalom: + 1 Alexandra Czene, the manager of the Hévíz Lake Bath, told us that the temporary closure of the main entrance of Hévíz Lake Bathis needed due to renovation. The renovation will take at least 6-7 months, so the popular entrance with the cherubs in the Dr Schulhof Vilmos Promenade is expected to reopen in June. The dressing rooms of the main entrance buildingwill be renovated. The dressing rooms will undergo complex renovation work from November, so next summer, a completely refurbished, much nicer and more modern changing-room will be offered forvisitors. During the closing period, the Hévíz Lake Bath will be accessible via the entrance of the Festetics Bathhouse (Ady Endre Street), and the cash desks will continue to operate withthe usual opening hours. The Festetics Bathhouse entrance is accessible by car from Ady Street.Parking is available in the parking lot next to the overfall weir and, driving along Ady Street, in the designated car park, where you can also charge electric cars. On foot or by bicycle from Deák Square (bus station), you can reach the Festetics entrance in about 10 minutes by going along the promenade between the protective forest and Lake Hévíz. Walking along the Dr Schulhof Vilmos Promenade past the main entrance of the Lake Bath, the other entrance can be accessed by following the lake fence; it is about a 3 minutes' walk from the 'cherub' entrance. During the transitional period, visitors will be able to use the dressing rooms of the Festetics Bathhouse and, if necessary, the staff of the Lake Bath will also create temporary dressing rooms at several points of the bath, about which visitorswillbe informed. Despite the renovation work, the Lake Bath is not planning to close or temporarily shut down, so you can expect to be able to enjoy the services of Lake Hévíz in the winter too. However, the spa staff would like to kindly ask for the visitors’ patience and understanding if the operating changing-rooms will be a bit more crowded during the winter, especially in the holiday season. By the time the open-air bath opens in May,hopefully, the cash desks of the main entrance, which now are closing, will be opened partially, or, depending on the number of visitors and the weather, the Deák Square entrance will be opened a little earlier in order to providean easier access to the open-air bath andthe summer changing-rooms. Visitors to the spa will also experience other work around the main entrance, as there will be public utility work in front of the main entrancein the spring, followed by a major promenade renovation, which is expected in the second half of next year. However, these works are not related to the renovation of the changing-room of Lake Bath.

tartalom: + 1 What else could be the main message to everyone this year: LIVE ACTIVELY! STAY FIT! STAY HEALTHY! And the perfect location is Hévíz, where health, health preservation, recreation, and the healing and energies provided by nature have been a part of everyday life for hundreds of years. Most of the shops, restaurants and service providers have already been back to business, the majority of the accommodation establishments have already been open, and some accommodation facilities will welcome guests from the second half of June. Most of the hotels and guesthouses have cosy gardens, parks, outdoor and indoor pools, wellness, and beauty services to make your stay unforgettable. Today, there is nothing to prevent you from taking a perfect summer vacation in the usual quality in Hévíz.
SWIMMING AMONG WATER-LILIES IN THE WORLD'S LARGEST HOT WATER LAKE If you are in Hévíz, you must see Lake Hévíz. And, if it is Lake Hévíz, you can experience the following: bathing, crystal clear hot medicinal water, black mud, waterlilies, small fish, water birds. The rustle of bald cypresses, fresh air and the experience of bathing and relaxing in the park on any day of the year. Surrounded by prestigious, historic buildings, Lake Hévíz is a unique and enticing experience again and again for anyone who has, even once, found pleasure in swimming in 32°C water on a beautiful early-autumn day. In summer, all ages can be found on the beach from 0 to 110 years old. Although the lake is not a water park with giant slides that is why it is different. It is a small wonder of nature that cannot be imitated and compared to other baths. PARKS, WOODS, PROMENADES, GREEN! GREEN! GREEN! EVERYWHERE! Cycle, walk, hike, move freely! In the protective forests surrounding the lake, on the banks of the Hévíz stream or even on the gently sloping hiking trails of the Keszthely Hills, there are many opportunities to explore the area in the fresh air, listening to the songs of birds. Whether you are planning a light stroll or a more serious hike, you will be able to choose from different routes. The Tourinform Office in Hévíz helps the lovers of nature with free hiking and cycling maps, as well as renting bicycles and Nordic walking poles. Besides, thanks to Bakonyerdő (the company looking after the woods), well-maintained routes, rest areas, educational trails, and lookout towers await families in the Keszthely Hills. The latter ones, by the way, offer a fantastic view of Lake Balaton. MEDIEVAL CASTLE RUINS FROM SMALL ONES TO LARGER ONES OFFERING A FULL-DAY EXPERIENCE If you have already been told about hills, mountains, forests, and great views… starting from Hévíz, many ruins of castles can be discovered during a day trip. The nearest is the ruins of Rezi Castle, located only 10 km away, which is an easy walk from Hévíz. A little further away, on Tátika Hill, there are also the remains of a castle in the middle of the forest. If you set off in the direction of Lake Balaton, you will reach Szigliget in 30 minutes, where not only the ruins of a castle but a complex, interactive medieval knight's castle offer a great program for families. What is more, the castle has been renovated in recent months, so it will reopen on 20th June. You can also take a day trip to Sümeg or Nagyvázsony or you can even climb the ruins of Csobánc Castle. If you are looking for the nearest small castle ruin, you will find it on the Main Square (Fő tér) in Keszthely, in the Castle Garden next to the Church of Our Lady of Hungary. ACTIVE ADVENTURES FOR ADRENALINE ADDICTS If you look for active experiences outdoors, and besides that, come to Hévíz with children, you do not have to go far for a little adventure. Children and adults can test their courage on the ropes course in the Tavirózsa Adventure Park located on the confines of Hévíz. Right next to it, the enthusiasts of racing can compete on a go-kart track. The Dino and Adventure Park in Rezi offers moments of forgetfulness for families with small children and dinosaur fans, while older kids can spend a fun day in the Zobori Adventure Park in Zalaszabar. Those who are over 16 can get black-and-blue marks and memories for life in a paintball fight in Gyenesdiás, or learn to water-ski on the beach of Vonyarcvashegy. Those who aim high can do so by a hot-air balloon, a gyrocopter, a microlighter or can enjoy a pleasure flight, while the lovers of the depth can creep and crawl with a tour guide in the caves of the Keszthely Hills. BEFORE OR AFTER THE ADVENTURES YOU HAVE TO EAT SOMETHING DELICIOUS AND FILLING Whether you like international cuisine or traditional Hungarian dishes, high-level gastronomy or the basic flavours of street food, you can choose from more than 50 restaurants in Hévíz, all of which are open throughout the year. The offer is variegated by the Hévíz and Gyenesdiás Farmers' Markets, where three values - local, artisan, and healthy - are added into each delicious product with all heart and soul. And if you want to experience a breezy wine tasting, the row of taverns in Egregy is an unmissable place where the fine wines of County Zala are combined with the view of the Zala landscape. WHAT WE DO NOT WRITE ABOUT IN THIS ARTICLE Roman ruins, medieval churches, the stupa, water mill. Beaches, guided programs, guided sightseeing tours, boat trips, bird banding, Csillagvár (Star castle), museums in Keszthely, the mansion, model railway exhibition. Sports competitions, night tours, camps for children. Places to visit in the Balaton Uplands National Park, Uncle Matula's hut, the unique flora and fauna of Kis-Balaton (Little Balaton), basalt columns. There are so many experiences that await you in all seasons whether you come alone, with your partner or family. Programs not only in nice weather during the summer holiday!  “I like to come to Hévíz because I’ve felt, even the first time, that life in Hévíz is slower but not boring. The streets are not crowded but they are by no means extinct. People are happier, more relaxed, there is time for everything and there are a lot of opportunities, while everything is near at hand that I need in today’s business atmosphere. Quality services, lots of green, fresh air, silence. Here, I only pick up the phone when I want to.” B. Kristóf (Budapest, 2019) [galeria]

tartalom: + 1 This year's event will take place immediately after St. Martin's Day, on the weekend from November 12th to 14th. This means that besides the young wine goose will also enrich the menu offerings this year.   Main ingredient: Aszófőer Welschriesling from the Fodorvin winery The title “Wine of the City of Hévíz 2021” went to the 2020 Aszófőer Welschriesling from the Fodorvin winery. The competition took place on July 7 in the restaurant of the Hotel Spa Hévíz with the participation of an expert jury. Our jury was not mistaking, since they truly got the best: the Aszófőer Welschriesling by Fodorvin was again selected as the winner of the Italian Riesling category at the Parliament's Wine Chest in October  2021 from among 218 wines. The family cellar of the Fodorvin winery was built in 1858 in Aszófő, in the Vörösmáli vineyard, where they currently manage 9 hectares as a family business. The reductively produced wine has a pronounced greenish-yellow color, and its aroma is dominated by citric and vegetable notes. The full taste is complemented by a pleasant acidity. It can currently also be purchased in the Hévíz Tourinform office with the label “Wine of the City of Hévíz 2021”.   Exceptional menus and courses In mid-November, the restaurants in Hévíz will prepare more than just special dishes with the winning wine. These delicacies in the Platán restaurant will include, for example, the foie gras ragout with forest mushrooms and Aszófőer Welschriesling on a crispy yeast plait, as well as the crispy leg of goose with sage and rosemary potatoes and apple slices braised in Hévíz city wine. In the NaturMed Hotel Carbona's buffet menu - which is not only open to hotel guests - you can try, for example, a sauerkraut soup with smoked meat, dill and Aszófőer Welschriesling. There will also be a goose stomach ragout with a creamy mushroom sauce, which has been perfumed with Aszófőer Welschriesling. And on November 14th there will be roast lamb with rosemary-Aszófőer Welschriesling and anise as well as roasted pork knuckle with Aszófőer Welschriesling and white cabbage casserole with vegetables.   The ABORRA locations: Hotel Spa Hévíz**** Platán Restaurant Hotel Európa Fit**** Citrus Restaurant NaturMed Hotel Carbona**** Attila Restaurant Magyar Csárda Roman Cellar AzÉn Anyósom Restaurant Korona Restaurant Hofbräu Vendéglő Hévíz Sissy and Mozart Coffeehouse 9 +1.  Restaurant of Hotel Palace****, Restaurant Monarchia, where the 13 chefs will be cooking again!   The 13 chefs are back! After a two-year break, the 13 chefs are back with an exclusive menu with the motto “This is why everything is round”. The idea for the title came from the shape of each dish since they are going to be round.   More programs for the weekend The shops of the Hello Hévíz Association will have extended opening hours on 13 November. They are all going to be open until 6.00 p.m. and they are also preparing various decorations for St. Martin's Day in the centre of Hévíz. The Hévíz Farmers' Market will be open on 13 November from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will offer goose and wine delicacies. In addition to the gastronomy programs, NaturMed Hotel Carbona is also preparing an extra wellness program for this weekend: white and red wine baths, honey body care program, mulled wine spices in the sauna and even a tasteful wine tasting will await the guests.   More information about the current programs and accommodations: Tourist Information Hévíz | heviz@tourinform.hu | Tel: +36 83 540 131

tartalom: + 1 The IMTM 2023 – International Mediterranean Tourism Market was held two months ago in Expo Tel Aviv for the first time after COVID. The exhibition was a success. Endless booths and representations of both countries and private tourism providers alike. Walking between the cubicles and meeting hundreds of professionals, I suddenly noticed a small modest counter in a remote corner with the Hungarian flag. There I met Petr Ostrovkin, an impressive businessman with his intrepetor. I was curious about the product he was trying to market – a hotel in Hungary he owns on a small lake I never heard of. Petr invited me to visit and within a few weeks I found myself spending an incredible time by Europe’s largest thermal basin – lake Hévíz, chick to chick with Lake Balton.
There I investigated, discovered and experienced – why do Hungarians desire top thermal baths so much. Or, is it true that Hungary is indeed a “bathing world-power”.  The explanation is rather straightforward – history, tradition and geography are all mixed, like a traditional Jewish Cholent. The Romans that ruled in ancient Hungary left first their famous mark here. They had bathing and cleaning habits. Bathing was an important part of their lifestyle, which meant refreshing the body and soul. They built baths in this region, mainly for their military forces. Several private baths were also framed by wealthy Romans in their mansions. It is believed that the Roman healers built separate bathing complexes for those who were in poor health condition.   Hungarian bath culture started flourishing with medieval Turkish rule – an art wall creation in Rudas bath, Budapest (photo by Motti Verses) Going back in time – Rudas turkish style sink, Budapest (photo by Motti Verses) However it is believed that the Hungarian bath culture started flourishing with medieval Turkish rule. The Ottoman Empire, historically  the Turkish Empire, controlled much of southeast Europe, including Hungary. They are the ones that lay down the foundations of thermal baths. The Ottomans also introduced people to the habits of their wellness treatments. Massages, body creams and oils. The Turks valued bathing as both a cleansing ritual and social gathering. The Hungarians were doubtful. Only the Turks were allowed to use the baths during the day. Curious Hungarians only went to the thermal baths at night-time, especially in Budapest that was and still is a city of bathing power. The rest is history. Over the years these baths became part of a balanced life culture in Hungary. Bearing in mind that the country has no access to an ocean or a sea, relying on Lake Balaton for recreational needs, local baths flourished. The neighbors in Austria, once part of the joint dual Monarchy under the name Austro-Hungarian Empire, similarly love thermal baths . Lake Hévíz, Europe’s largest thermal basin (photo by Motti Verses) Endless steam – Lake Hévíz (photo by Motti Verses) A small creek with water coming from the lake- similar as the hotel thermal baths (photo by Motti Verses) No wonder the small Lake Hévíz, Europe’s largest thermal basin is an extremely popular destination – a two hours drive, either from Budapest or Vienna. It is 38.5 meters deep, with 410 liters per second water flow rate and biologically volcanically active – a natural thermal lake with magical health capabilities. Some call it the fountain of life. Since 1795 these healing waters helped people to recover and regain their strength. Most visitors return home refreshed and rejuvenated. Experts indicate that the chemical ingredients of cold and hot water springs, with 40 degrees of sulphuric medicinal water here, are richer than those in thermal baths in Budapest. Hévíz is where Petr Ostrovkin’s hotel is. He hopes Israelis will in time flock to his shimmering estate. His Lotus Therme Hotel & Spa offers 232 rooms and suites and is an ultimate destination for a relaxing and therapeutic vacation. The hotel is located in a gigantic natural park within walking distance to Lake Hévíz. This walk is rather surreal along a small creek with steam water coming from the lake. Our visit was just recently but the temperatures were low and a constant drizzle dominated our stay. Endless steam evaporates as the water temperature is very high. Guests may enjoy Lake Hévíz mineral water reaching the spa via pipes. Definitely the most rewarding experiences one can enjoy here. Lotus Therme is a pampering traditional hotel. A variety of different indoor pools in contrasting water temperatures are offered. The great jacuzzi was the strongest I have ever experienced. The main round pool is heated, but does not contain healing water. Pouring rain while your body is soaked deep in hot water is just paradise. We loved our morning swim in this well maintained pool. A unique experience in any weather conditions. The wellness spa offers a variety of treatments with Lake Hévíz products, however we did not experience them. The pampering pools were just fantastic. The daily scenery from the room balcony – total relaxation (photo by Motti Verses) A great experience while swimming – constant drizzle with steam evaporation, as the water temperature is very high (photo by Motti Verses) The relaxing lobby of Lotus Therme Hotel & Spa (photo by Motti Verses) Lotus is the key element here as this water flower really blossoms on this never surprising natural wonder. Apparently they like the volcanic water and always thrive in warm water with a need room to grow. The lake provides the perfect environment and the hotel wisely promotes this unique phenomenon as a marketing tool in its logo and with endless art creations all over the facilities. Advertisement   Hungarians and Austrians might carry a mosaic of a historical ambivalent relationship, but both people surly adore Lake Hévíz. The majority of guests in the hotel originate from those countries that share love for thermal baths. Lotus Therme Hotel & Spa is offering both food and entertainment with this fact in mind. Pleasant veteran General Manager Attila Fulop is heading skilled team members that work here for many years. Dressed with formal clothes they all recognize the guests who keep returning here. Loyal customers are the best proof for success. The menu at dinner is different each evening and the variety is one of the most generous I have seen. The bar is crowded each night and live dancing with different musicians each day are offered here. Guests of all ages are actually dancing. General Manager Fulop knows his work. A dream of a good hotelier is to keep his guests in its premises and not looking for alternatives elsewhere. Will Israelis flock to Hévíz? Hamat Gader hot springs site in the Yarmouk River valley, used since the classical antiquity, is one of the most popular attractions for Israelis. With that in mind and the endless daily flights from Ben Gurion airport to Budapest, the potential is certainly there. Especially in winter when the flight costs are rock bottom. Hévíz here we come.

tartalom: + 1 Let's see the offer, fairly, in ABC order: Bobo Fun Park - Adrenaline Arena The Bobo Fun Park opened in Alsópáhok in 2021, but we think the name Adrenalin Arena is more descriptive. How to describe it simply: a huge, really huge, two-level hall, which is very demanding and spectacular inside and out, full of crawling-climbing-jumping experiences. The arena has a morning and an afternoon game time, and you can choose from two types of tickets, depending on how committed you are. There are also separate coin-operated, paid VR experiences, but the main attractions are rather the moving tracks. Climbing walls, trampolines, ninja track, indoor rope course, etc. It's a great experience for adults, even without children. Who do we recommend? For anyone who likes to move, crawl and climb, whether as a family, with small children or with friends. This place can be perfect for teenagers and even adults, if they want a little (big) exercise and a challenge. Bobo Fun Park - Adrenalin Arena's own website Advantages very demanding location, with demanding games provides recreation for several age groups it moves mom and dad too the VR room is a real treat for those who like futuristic experiences cleanliness, order regardless of the weather, it is always open You can easily get here from Hévíz on foot, by bicycle or by bus Consider this! you have to pay attention to the playing time, as the day is divided into two periods it is forbidden to bring in food and drink, in exchange there is of course a high-quality buffet with hot and cold food and drinks it's a shame that you have to pay extra for VR experiences Our tip: For future guests: rules apply to wearing shoes and socks indoors! Therefore, make sure to find out before we go! For the operators: Some outdoor games would also be great, maybe a laser fighting track or a mini go-kart.
DinoparkRezi The pairing may seem strange at first, but the park located on the border of Rezi has both life-sized moving dinos and adventure games. With the daily ticket, you can use many experience elements, such as rope courses, pool football, children's climbing wall, mini golf courses, bocce and bull rodeo, walking dino, treasure hunt, boating, trampolines, playgrounds, light railway, while some games can be used with tokens (token price: HUF 250): grip machines, air hockey, foosball table, simulators, basketball machine. Who do we recommend? Where at least one child is a dino fanatic. The park is a great experience with smaller children. DinoparkRezi's own website Advantages: the rope courses are good for several age groups, there is a section that even preschoolers can use It is even within reach by bicycle from Hévíz during the summer season there are quite a few different game options to choose from there is also a restaurant/buffet, but you can also bring your own food it is in an open space, in a large area, so there is no crowding it is open every day Consider this! outdoor, therefore only recommended in good weather some of the games are age-restricted   Our tip: There may not be enough trees, so in the hot sun, be prepared with sunscreen, water, a cap, and a hat to prevent sunburn. Some of the toys may be a little old, and it shows here and there, but dinos don't age.
Water Lily Adventure Park The Tavirózsa Gardening Center is located between Hévíz and Keszthely. Don't let the name mislead anyone, the Tavirózsa Adventure Park is actually located in a garden, and it should be added here that it is in a correspondingly wonderful environment. While mother/father/grandmother is enjoying the plants, perhaps selecting or shopping, the children can test their courage on the rope course. There is also minigolf, archery, foot billiards, pedal go-karts, and treasure hunting. The main thing is a safe environment and a safe gaming experience! Of course, there is also a buffet, where you can enjoy refreshing drinks or freshly baked filled pies under a pleasant gazebo. Who do we recommend? For grandmothers who would like to bring their grandchildren to a place for a few hours where they will be safe, and if they are not participating in archery together, they can relax in an arbor and enjoy the flowers. Tavirózsa Adventure Park's own website Advantages: the environment is wonderful and the operating couple is very nice the games are recommended for children under the age of 16 easily accessible by car or bicycle, but there is also a bus stop a few meters away for the more adventurous, there is also a go-kart track in the immediate vicinity it is open from Monday to Saturday Consider this! outdoor, so only recommended in good weather the ropeway is not very high, so it is not great for adrenaline junkies it's not a very big park, so it's not a full-day program, but that can even be an advantage Our tip: Go with your eyes open, because it is difficult to find the park at first, but not because it is not easily accessible, but because we only notice the horticulture. ZOBORI EXPERIENCE PARK The largest adventure park in the region, on a huge area, with a wonderful panorama of Little Balaton. In Zobor, there are both outdoor and indoor games, 4XD Cinema, escape room, adventure castle, giant trampoline, rope course, slide, free fall tower, laser combat, airsoft, water dodgem, VR experiences, water playground and the biggest attraction is the roller coaster. But there are even live animals, and even if you're in the area, you shouldn't miss the wine estate. The park is a real treat, with many attractions, which are best viewed as a full-day program. Who is it recommended for? Especially for families with children, if the goal is to find a full-day program with lots of comings and goings and adventures, which can be an option even in bad weather. Zobori Amusement Park's own website Advantages in a very large area many different attractions demanding design, buildings, walkways, rest areas there are also outdoor and indoor programs a good experience for many age groups Companions over the age of 65 have a walking ticket there are also several buffets and self-service restaurants Consider this! outside of the summer season, it is only open on weekends unless you are staying here in the village, it is only accessible by car here, too, there are token experiences that are not included in the ticket price Our tip: It's a good idea to set a budget in advance as to how much you want to spend on the program, because the horse can run away with us when it comes to chip games.
Are you interested in more experiences and attractions in the same area? We have more tips, you can find more ideas here! >>>   Opening image: Zobori Adventure Park
