The Spa opens two of their entrances on Saturday: the main entrance at Schulhof Vilmos Promenade and the entrance from Festetics Spa at Ady Endre street will be open. With regards to the government decree published on 26 April 2021, the Spa can be visited only be those who got vaccinated. Opening hours: The Lake will be open from 9 am to 6.30 pm. cím: Renewed parking lots in Hévíz

lead: The Great Parking Place and the parking lot by the Water Tower has been renewed at the end of 2021 which also introduced a new and smart way for parking in the city.

tartalom: The barristers have returned to the Great Parking Place but also the parking lot by the Water Tower got new barristers. In the previously mentioned parking lots the way of parking and paying your parking tickets have changed, while at the other parking places in the city you can pay by the traditional way.   The specialty of the new, improved parking lots is that you can park without a parking ticket and the system is also able to record your license plate. The new system makes parking much easier since you do not need to worry about purchasing your tickets, you can just simply drive in and pay after you finished with parking. It is important to notice though that once you have driven in, you still have 15 minutes to leave the parking lots without paying.   Parking without parking tickets? Even though you don't need to place a parking ticket to your windshield, you still need to pay for your parking, but only when you are actually about to finish parking. Several terminals are placed out the parking lots where you can pay (in the Great Parking Place 3 while at the Water Tower only 1 terminal is available so far). At the terminals, you simply just need to type in your license plate number and also the number of the parking place where you parked you car (the parking place numbers are visible on the surface of the concrete e.g. P115 etc.). You can pay by cash or by credit card as well. After paying, you have 10 minutes to leave the parking lot.   Make it even more simpler To make parking even more easy, a mobile app was also create which is available for iOS and for Android systems as well. lead: On April 22, it was revealed which wine is awarded the title of Wine of the city for a year. For the third time, the wines have been tested in a renewed theme.

Not only local wineries were invited to the competition, but many other wineries from different parts of the country. 25 producers from 12 wine regions of Zala and Balaton submitted a total of 50 items for the gastronomic battle. 22 grape varieties - Welsh Riesling, Savignon Blanc, "Ezerjó", Zenit, Patria, "Cserszegi fűszeres" - represented the selection.   The process The wines were judged on 22 April at the NaturMed Hotel Carbona. The items were first judged by a professional jury. The main patron of the event was Ágnes Diána Sárdy PhD, Director of the MATE Buda Campus, Associate Professor. The members of the jury were Barna Szőke PhD, chaired by MATE, Deputy Research Director of the Institute of Viticulture and Enology of Badacsony, Barnabás Kovács PhD, assistant professor of wine, Sándor Viniczai, editor-in-chief of wine booklets, Zsolt Vaszily CEO of Carbona, Tamás Borbély - President of the Badacsony Wine Region, Wine Producer of the Year, owner of the Borbély Family Winery, Winemaker, and last but not least Mrs. Beatrix Sütőné Tüttő was representing the city of Hévíz. The wine was selected with the usual blind tasting. This means that only the type and year were given to the jury members. Well-known Hungarian experts evaluated the wines using an electronic 100-point grading system. During the scoring, in a close competition, 7 lots were finally presented to the social jury, who judged the wines using the same system.     Who became the winner? Cezar Winery Kis Balaton - Savignon Blanc 2021 vintage white wine.   What does the winner get? In addition to wearing the honorary title for a full year, they will have the opportunity to present themselves at the 4-day Wine and Gastro Festival in August. The honorary diplomas accompanying the title will be presented at the jHappy Peace Times on April 30, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.   Where can I taste / buy it? The winning wine is already on the market and has already received its special decorative label. cím: THE SUMMER SEASON HAS STARTED IN HÉVÍZ with 100%

tartalom: + 1 After the strictly observed security measures, there has been news every day since May that a service provider has reopened their facilities or services in Hévíz. HAPPY PEOPLE ON THE TERRACES OF RESTAURANTS Now you can see people drinking coffee or wine in a fine mood on the terraces and in the indoor rooms of restaurants and cafés. The wine cellars of Egregy and the ice cream parlours have also been opened. You can have a set menu or choose from the a la carte menu, drink some wine in the evening or sit down for a slice of cake, ‘lángos’ (fried dough) or lemonade after bathing in the lake. As usual, the Hévíz Farmers’ Market is open three times a week, where visitors and, of course, buyers can choose from the full range of products again. HOLIDAYMAKERS AT THE ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES On the shores of the pools of the hotels, guests are occupying more and more sunbeds, couples looking for relaxing wellness, fans of fit life, health tourists and families aiming to explore the area have arrived. At Whitsun, the changing rooms of the Main Entrance on Dr Schulhof Vilmos Promenade opened. They had been completely renovated during the winter, so they are now more spacious, colourful, and practical. The drinking fountain in the hospital building will be open to the public again. tartalom: + 1 The first rectangular bathhouse, consisting of two buildings, was built in 1795 by the landowner Count I. Festetics György. The news on the benefits of the medicinal water reached Vienna in 1801, and the presence of the white water lilies in the lake was already mentioned in a memoir in 1818. Additional Indian species were planted to these water lilies in 1898. In 1858, afforestation around the lake, modernisation of the spa buildings and development of the lakeside buildings for guests started. In the centre of the lake, the male and female mirror baths (baths surrounded with cabins) were located, but many people still used the sluice of Hévíz, which was wider that time, for swimming. Spa Hévíz in the 1910s and 1920s From 1905, leaseholder Reichl Vencel did his best to develop Hévíz into an international spa town.  The former bathhouse was replaced by a domed building, and it is also due to him that a number of modern accommodation and restaurants, and the „Cure Salon”, essential to the health resort, were built. In 1907, on the site of the old built bridge, a roofed bridge was erected and the characteristic two-towered main entrance was completed. In the same year, the Sanatorium and Spa Hotel of Hévíz was built. In 1911, the town received the „spa resort-like settlement” title. tartalom: + 1 Would it be cool though? If you want to look cool by swimming in a natural lake in winter try Lake Hévíz. The temperature of the Lake never goes below 24˙C, not even in the winter. In Hévíz it doesn't matter what season it is: it is always bathing time! This is a proven fact! Did you know? Tired muscles, cold toes, and stress dissolve in warm water! In the thermal spa pools, you can enjoy the hot steam all day and night at 36°C. Wherever you go, sooner or later (sooner is the better) you're bound to stumble upon a poolside. Melt yourself out with the power of steam! As soon as winter sets in, the sauna stones start to glow. Honey, fragrant, coconut, beer infusions, and refreshing saunas await you. You don't have to start with the 90°C Finnish sauna, instead start with the aroma or steam cabin and relax with the power of nature! A water experience in a different way! Ever been paddling in winter? Have you ever paddled at all? Only here, and only in winter, you can experience it on the Hévíz Stream. Not only the experience is special, but the landscape is also a sight to behold! Which is why only a very limited number of paddlers can paddle on a stretch of about 10 km. If you want to go on a canoe trip, you should book early for this programme! But good news: it is safe for children too and even recommended for beginners! In fact, zigzagging is even more fun. Forget the water! Warm water and steam are not the only ways to warm up. Explore the so called ‘Vadlán-lik (Wild Girl’s Cave) or find out yourself if the basalt organs really play some music or not. Finally, make a selfie from the top of one of the lookout towers of the Keszthely Hills, or from the Castle of Szigliget,with Lake Balaton and the basalt hills in the background! Catch fire! Would you like to participate in a small adventure tour, just here, just in town, preferably not too long? You arrived in the city, and it’s raining all day.  Don't stay home! It's open now as well! If you like challenges and moving a lot The Adrenalin Arena in Alsópáhok is the perfect choice for you. The Arena is fun for adults and for children as well. For the less adventurous, Keszthely's Helikon Castle Museum is the place to visit. In the castle you can spend days, since there are six different exhibitions waiting for you to explore them all. You may also find some other thermal baths in the area as well filled with slides and many pools. You're here to relax, not to jump!  Stay in the hotel and head to the spa. There's nothing better than one or more pampering sessions, a nice relaxing massage, a scented bath or some beauty treatments. Don’t forget to eat! Morning, noon, evening, anytime - have a steaming drink; tea, coffee, mulled wine, punch, hot chocolate and/or eat hot cream soups, pancakes, roasts, or the finest lángos in the city. You don't have to go down to the bar if you don't want to. Order everything from the hotel and spend the whole day in bed.
