Raising Awareness of Urban Heat Islands in Hévíz through the BeReady Project

As part of the European project BeReady (UrBan hEat islands REsilience, prepAreDness and mitigation strategY), the City of Hévíz has created a series of infographics to raise awareness about urban heat islands (UHI) and promote climate change adaptation measures among its residents.

Raising Awareness of Urban Heat Islands in Hévíz through the BeReady Project

These materials are based on a local assessment of UHI-related risks in Hévíz and include essential information on the causes and effects of urban heat, risk groups within the population, and practical health protection advice during periods of extreme summer temperatures.

To ensure the information is accessible and relevant to all citizens, special versions of the infographics have been developed for vulnerable groups. These targeted materials offer age-appropriate advice and emphasize simple actions that can help reduce the negative impact of extreme heat in everyday life.
