Fans of folk dance and folk music are welcome to the first ever Water Lily Folk Fest in Hévíz

Eye-catching costumes, embroideries, motifs, fluttering legs and rotating petticoats. Boots with snapping palms, tapping slippers, rhythm and shining faces. All of this and many programs will await you on the two days of the first Water Lily Folk Fest in Hévíz, between 23 and 24 September.

Fans of folk dance and folk music are welcome to the first ever Water Lily Folk Fest in Hévíz

For the first time, the Folk Folk Festival will take place in Hévíz on 23-24 September.

The two-day festival will open on Friday at 3.15 with a parade of children; dancers. The afternoon continues with performances by children of different ages in Rákóczi Street and then at 18.30 the ÜSTökös Kompania will take over the stage to entertain the audience with a fun, dance, music, and interactive programs. The first Friday evening will end with a folk-dance gala in two parts, featuring the Gyenes Folk Dance Ensemble and Nagyváthy Folk Dance Ensemble. In the break, while the dancers will have a rest, the audience will have the chance to see a short folk fashion show on stage showcasing the dancers; costumes and the different folk costumes.


The program continues on Saturday with performances by the adult dancers. Mátyás Fodor will open the festival with a program of "Pergő Lépések". In addition to the dance performances, the evening will also feature a choir and of course there will be a group dance as well, in which the audience can actively join. The dancers will be accompanied live by the Re-Folk Orchestra on both days, and in Rákóczi Street a handicraft fair will be also set up.
