The 15 nominated hotels for the "Hotel of the Year" contested in three, four and five star categories.  In the four-star superior category the Hotel Európa fit****superior has won the title of “Hotel of the Year”, as the only provincial hotel in Hungary. The jury took into consideration the quality of services (investigated on the basis of the MSZÉSZ' own mystery shopper tests), the innovative sales and hotel management methods, the revenue-indicators, Human Resources practices, CSR as well as the opinions of guests (on hotel review and reservation websites such TripAdvisor, Booking, Expedia, Holidaycheck, etc.).   We are especially proud of this award, because long years of well considered development policy, the customer-centric mentality and the hard work of nearly 200 workers have been rewarded with this prize. Zala Springs Golf Resort in Zalacsány is already welcoming visitors on the highest-ranking golf course in the region, complete with a brasserie, a club house and three apartment houses.According to plans, the resort will be able to cater for as many as over one thousand persons at a time, who will be the envied occupants of – in terms of scale – five hundred villas and apartments and will also soon be able to take possession of the new spa and wellness centre. The spa area was designed by the architecture firm Archikon, under the lead of Ybl-prize winner Csaba Nagy and Károly Pólus. Earlier, the company was actively involved, among other projects, in the reconstruction of Párisi udvar in Budapest, and, also thanks to their expertness, restored to its former glory, the Olof Palme House in the capital has recently opened its gates under the name of Millenium House. Development director András Sütő described the complex in Zalacsány as standing out from the landscape like a pagoda, surrounded by a pond populated by water lilies, giving the impression that it is hovering above the ground.“The essence of the conception is that we have aimed at exclusivity much rather than quantity. The wellness area will be very much different from other spas in domestic hotels, as planning has been done including excellent experts, who focussed on recharging related to golf and preservation of good health”, he explained.As an example, he mentioned the nozzles in the pool, which, by their positioning, will facilitate a real regeneration of the muscles, and not just give a nice experience. On top of this, the sauna will also be authentic, as a Finnish specialist helped them dream it up and not only will it convey the atmospheretypical of the northern saunas, but it will also have to be used as one.“In the planning stage, much attention was dedicated to balneological issues; balneology is the science that studies medicinal springs and their therapeutic applications and effects in spas. The physical features of water, such as temperature, pressure, flow, buoyant force and their impact on the organism of the bathers were closely studied”, he said. Mr Sütő also added, that, depending on the weather, visitors will be able to bathe both in open air and in indoor pools, and that the spa will offer an excellent opportunity to lovers of both active and passive recreation. Guests will have the opportunity to choose to their heart’s content from the light meals and healthy drinks offered in the bar as part of the comprehensive health-aware philosophy of the spa complex. lead: After being closed for more than 7 weeks, Lake Hévíz reopens its gates on 9 May, at 9 o’clock.

tartalom: + 1 With taking the right safety measurements, the Lake opens only its beach side for the time being. The Spa asks its visitors to follow the rules regarding hygiene and use only the showers which are located outside on the beach.  The indoor areas are being sanitized continuously, but they are not open yet for guests. Lake Hévíz is in the unique situation that the 4.4 hectare of natural, clean thermal water constantly changes and cleans itself naturally due to its discharge rate of 410 litres per second. The temperature of the lake revolves around 30 °C as of right now, thanks to the thermal springs inside the lake. This way outdoor swimming and bathing is really pleasant right now. Lake Hévíz is also surrounded by a 6.6-hectare forest, where guests coming to Hévíz can easily avoid crowds and be in the fresh air while enjoying themselves in the shadows of the wonderful swamp cypresses.     The Hotels Are Preparing to Open too Hotels in Hévíz are accepting reservations from Whitsun, however, most of the hotels will stay closed during the weeks before that.  Currently the staffs of the hotels are working behind closed doors; they are making everything in preparation for the arriving guests so they can enjoy their stay in the cleanest and safest environment. For the time being, the most important thing is safety. All the hotels do everything in their power to follow the safety rules made by the Hungarian Government and the statements released by the Hungarian Touristic Agency in their COVID guidebook. In Hévíz, there were no problems regarding tidiness in the hotels before the outbreak of the virus either, most restaurants and community centrums had already had hand sanitizers placed out. Currently they are working together to make buffet cafeterias 100% safe for the hotel guests: safety is important for all of us especially regarding the touch-free service and keeping the suggested social distance.   The Farmers’ Market of Hévíz and Other Attractions Since 4 May, Hévíz has started to revive: the terraces of the restaurants and cafés are starting to open up, the windows of stores are being reorganised. Parks and playgrounds are also open, the new plants and flowers for the summer were also set up in the flowerbeds. Soon you will be able to find your favourite ice cream at the best ice cream parlour in the city, at the Rózsakert Restaurant. Soon the best wines will be also available at the cellars and restaurants at the Egregy vineyards. The Farmers’ Market of Hévíz is also open with the regular working hours three times a week; however, between 9 and 11 am only people over 65 years old can purchase the fresh fruits and vegetables. At the market, the use of face masks is compulsory! For the re-opening of the museums and the cinema we still have to wait. Events still cannot be organised, however, the local government is trying to find a solution so the streets of Hévíz can be filled up with music again with avoiding the big gatherings as well. The Tourinform Office of Hévíz is still only open via telephone or e-mail. The office is set to be open again in the second half of May, until then feel free to contact our collegaues who help guests gladly! The city became peaceful and silent in no matter of time. By the middle of May, the long awaited moment has arrived: life gets back to normal in Hévíz! Shops are already open and terraces of cafés started to get full of life slowly. Lake Hévíz has been open since 9 May, so visitors can swim again in the 30°C lake under the blue sky. The first guests have already arrived in private accommodations. Four hotels will be open by the Whitsun weekend, however, reservations are accepted in every hotel. The hotels are very flexible regarding rescheduling the previously booked dates. During these two months everyone was busy with renovating and renewing so they could provide their guests a better environment than ever.  The safety precautions and hygiene restrictions are taken very seriously everywhere. tartalom: + 1 We gathered the programs that await you at the end of the year in Hévíz.   The Lights of Advent in the City and Celebration at the Farmer's Market of Hévíz The inner city of Hévíz is filled with lights of Advent in December. A Christmas tree, a Betlehem and an Advent Wreath is placed at the Festetics Square. A candle is lit on each Sunday on the Advent Wreath. The promenade will be filled with wooden houses, atmospheric music and enticing smells. A fair of handmade products and children programs will wait everyone at Moll Square. On the Farmers' Market there will be special gastronomy programs on each Saturday morning. On 30 December, a Pig Slaughter will be held at the Farmer's Market of Hévíz. On the 31 December a New Year's Eve party will be taken place in the tent with concerts and street festival.     Holiday concerts and the best performers at the hotels of Hévíz If you decide to stay one of the hotels in Hévíz during the holiday season, many program wil guarantee your entertainment. During the day, you may enjoy the relaxing wellness sections of the hotels, while in the evening the finest dishes and the best performers will make sure you enjoy your stay. Of course no animals will be harmed, but you can see the live demonstration of sausage stuffing, roasting beef, cabbage cooking, and you can taste them all as well. On 31 December, the program will begin in the tent set up in the Market Square from 1 pm. First, the little ones can party at the Magic Sounds playhouse, which is followed by a presentation of local products: tips and ideas directly from the producers. In the tent DJ Krezi's play from 9 pm in the to 2 pm but in the meanwhile surprise performances will be by Attila Hertelendy and Zsuzsanna Debrei at 10 pm, the Desperado band will arrive at 11 pm, and the Unique band will start at 12:30 am.   Korona Restaurant (Hévíz, Széchenyi str. 43.) The Korona Restaurant will be making a super New Year's theme this year as usual. The atmosphere of the Moulin Rouge will come alive for one night only for those who book a table here. French dishes such as cognac quail soup or Nice salad, Garden-Provence chicken breast fillet, Ratatouille, Crepe Suzette and other French delicacies will be on the menu. tartalom: + 1 The Calvary was blessed and consecrated by Reverend Dr. György Udvardy, Archbishop of Veszprém, with the help of László Kiss, Bishop of Hévíz, who asked God's blessing on the built Calvary. They also asked blessings for the creators of the Calvary and for everyone who visits it to walk Christ's Way of the Cross. János József Kepli, Deputy Mayor of Hévíz and Secretary of State Bálint Nagy gave a festive speech to the large crowd gathered at the foot of the Árpád-era church. In his speech, József Kepli called the construction of the Calvary an important milestone in the life of Hévíz and Egregy, as it enabled one of the most important elements of Egregy's urban rehabilitation efforts to be realized. After the excavation and presentation of the ruins of the Villa Rustica, the preservation of the grave of the Roman soldier, the construction of the Egregyi Museum, the renovation of the Romanesque-style cemetery chapel and the renovation of the wine cellar, it is a great pleasure that such a beautiful, new, natural place that provides an opportunity for reflection was created. The calvary is not only a confession of our faith for Hévíz and the region, but also a significant step forward from the point of view of religious tourism, emphasized State Secretary Bálint Nagy in his speech. The length of the promenade consisting of 14 stations is about 300 meters, and the difference in level from the starting point to the cross is 23.5 meters. The calvary ascends in the direction of the Árpád-era church. Its design is characterized by simplicity and moderation. Trees offer shade in the surroundings of the walkway made of natural materials, and in some sections it is possible to rest and meditate. The materials used fits well into the landscape. The artistic works of his stations were created by Tibor Túri Török. At the end of the Calvary, a wooden cross was added. Next to the cross there is also a stone sculpture representing an empty tomb, which symbolizes the resurrection of Christ. At the end of our walk, we come to the north side of the monument cemetery chapel, so we can also admire the small Romanesque church built in the first half of the 13th century.
